"Fiorella, are you ready to go?" I called out from my bedroom as I finished packing my suitcase. Anthony and I are leaving for Pax East in a couple hours and I have to drop Fiorella off with Jess. As I put the last item in and closed the suitcase lid, I saw my little girl skip through my bedroom door, her dark curly hair bouncing on her shoulders.
"Here I am!" she cheered as I picked her up and sat her down on my knee.
"Ready to spend the day with Auntie Jess?"
She smiled and nodded, her dimples that she got from Anthony as deep as ever, and I put her down to grab my suitcase handle. I took her hand in my other one and we left our apartment together, making our way to Anthony and Jess's.
Fiorella just turned three years old last December, and every day with her has been amazing. Despite the circumstances of her birth, I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was a tough adjustment getting used to being a father, but once the first few months passed I realized that it was what I was meant to do. My parents stayed with me for the first month, and of course Anthony and Jess have been amazing help along the way.
Fiorella lives with me full time, but she'll occasionally spend the night with Anthony and Jess. She's known for a while now that there's something different about our family. She knows both me and Anthony as her dads, but she doesn't exactly know how that works. We plan to explain it to her in a few years when she's older, but for now there's no need to spoil what we have.
Anthony has been an amazing dad these last three years. For the most part, Fio - as we like to call her for short - is a daddy's girl. He records with her a lot, almost more than with me. She also loves Jess to death, and she even calls her Auntie. To her, Smarty and GaLm are like distant uncles even though she's only met them in real life a couple times.
We reached Anthony and Jess's apartment and took turns knocking on their door. After about a minute, Jess came to the door and Fio ambushed her in a tiny hug.
"Auntie Jess!" she called out.
"Hey there, Fio! How's my favorite girl doing?"
"I'm good. Where's papa?"
Anthony came out of his and Jess's room with his suitcase. "Did someone ask for me?" he asked with a chuckle.
Jess put Fio down and she ran up to Anthony for a hug. "Fiorella," he said with an Italian accent. "Are you gonna miss us while we're gone?"
"No worries," Jess added. "We're gonna have a great time together, aren't we?"
She smiled and nodded again. Anthony kissed her on the cheek, then put her down and grabbed his suitcase handle. "Ready to go, Ze?"
"Yep." He went up to Jess and gave her a kiss.
"I can't forget about my other two favorite people," he chuckled as he put a hand on her belly. Oh, did I mention? Anthony and Jess have been married for almost a year and a half now, and they have their own kid on the way, a son they plan on naming Anthony Jr. In another three months or so, Fiorella's going to be a big sister, and she can't wait.
I leaned down to kiss her on the forehead. "Kelli will be by here in a few hours to pick you up, okay?"
"Okay," she giggled.
Do you remember Kelli, my friend from college in California? Well, she graduated shortly before Fiorella was born, and a month later she came to visit me here in Connecticut. We started dating right afterwards, and when Fio turned eight months old Kelli legally adopted her as her mother. While she is close to Anthony, she thinks of Kelli as her mother figure. I think it's nice that she gets to have a feminine figure in her life.
"Have fun, you two. I'll take good care of Fio for you." Anthony and I made our way out the door and waved goodbye to our girls.
The last three years have been challenging, spectacular, difficult, and amazing, and I wouldn't change a thing about them. All our family and friends love her, and so do our fans. They're also excited about Anthony Jr. as well. With him coming in June, I can't wait to see what the future holds for all of us.
(A/N: I apologize if the ending was kinda meh but I didn't know of any other way to put it. Anyway, this is the end of this crazy journey and I hope you all enjoyed it! This was actually my first RoyalChaos story, and I enjoyed it so much I might consider doing another one in the future. Probably not the near future, though, as I'll need proper inspiration for it.
On that note, thank you all for reading!)
