"Dylan will you pleeeaaase tell me where we're going." I ask for the fifth time in 20 minutes of being in the car.
"Nope. But stop worrying, you'll love it!" He responds.
"I've only known you for a week, how to I know you're not going to kidnap me?" I ask.
"You don't." He says in a deep tone, the. Looks at me with a devious smile.
I laugh at the look on his face.
"That's not creepy at all." I say sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
We continue to talk and laugh until about 20 minutes later Dylan parks in front of Target.
"Wait here for a sec." He says getting out of the car.
"Okayyyyy." I respond in a confused tone with my eyebrows furrowed.
I wait in the car for about 5 minutes when I see him running out of the store carrying a large bag with a long cylindrical looking thing barely sticking out. He throws the bag in the back of the truck, and hops back in.
"Alrighty, we should be there in about 20 more minutes or so." He says as he turns on the engine and starts driving again.
"Now will you tell me where we're going, or at least what's in the bag?" I ask still completely confused.
"My answer stays the same. That would be a big fat no." He answers smiling at me.
I give up completely this time, and just go with it. I trust Dylan. I guess that's partly because I feel so safe around him. I don't know why, but when I hear his voice I just feel warm and happy in his presence. Whenever I look at him or even think about him it automatically brings a smile to my face, no matter what mood I'm in. I have no clue why all this is what it is but... it just... is.
We decide to take turns asking any question in the world about each other to get to know each other a little better.
"Hmmm... What is your favorite subject in school?" I ask, not being able to think of anything more creative.
"Chemistry." He answers without hesitation then winks at me.
"Okay, your turn." I say
"Let's see... If you could describe me in one word, what would it be?" He asks.
It takes me a couple minutes to think.
"Adorkable." I say, happy with my response.
He lets out a loud short laugh.
"Well technically, that's TWO words combined, but I'll let it slide." He says nudging me.
I shove his arm.
This goes on for the rest of the drive (much flirting involved), until we arrive at this shop plaza thing. Dylan once again tells me to stay put, and heads into a bike shop. A few minutes later he comes back out, rolling two big cruiser bikes. One is plain blue with a white basket on the front, and one is light yellow with pink flowers. He nods his head at me, motioning me to get out of the car and come to him.
"Here, hold these for a sec." He says.
I follow his direction while he goes and gets the target bag and a big backpack out of the car. He sets the two bags in the bike basket, and locks the truck.
"You ready to go?" He asks me.
I am still super confused, but I'm pretty sure we are somewhere near the ocean due to the scent of salt and fish in the air. I decide to play a trick on him, since he is leaving me clueless.
