How to Survive being Shot in the Leg

30 0 0

This is more of an educational one.

If you get shot in the leg most likely you will have either a broken or shattered bone. The bleeding will need to be stopped fast to survive. If you are alone then I wish you the best of luck(because you'll need it),but if you have a partner then he/she/they can help stop the bleeding by putting some kind of pressure on the wound.

You will need to go to the hospital as soon as possible and get the wound cleaned out. Sadly not everyone will have a hospital within reach so if you are out in the middle of nowhere just try to clean it out as best as you can. Besides bleeding to death or having your leg falling off the next thing you need to worry about is an infection. Before all of our medical advancements about half of the soldier's in army would die of diseases or infections caused by minor injuries, not the enemy.

So here is what you would what to do if someone was shot in the leg.

1. Get them to rest and relax. The victim needs to save energy and lower the speed of their blood circulation.

2. Try and stop the bleeding. Nothing else will matter if they bleed to death.

3.  Make sure that the wound is cleaned out as best as possible so that the victim doesn't later die of an infection.

And I would just like to say that I have never been shot so I cannot say from experience whether this method works or not. So good luck!
