The Elemental Contestant (Running Man Animation Fanfiction) [Book 4]

Chapter 3: Battle of Superpowers

After Pala became the victor of the mini game, he was seen in the middle of the stadium, pumping his fists up in the air in elation, and possibly crying tears of immense joy, as floating cameras circled him before leaving him alone to go and returning to Sabriye's hated foe, Charming Gold. He uttered his speech as he posed for the cameras.

"Ladies and gentlemen. In the last game, Pala won, despite nearly everybody's expectations. Will this game end with an exciting twist? We'll find out as we begin Round 2... Right now." Abruptly, the battle grounds for the next match rose up, catching Pala off guard. The contestants rose up from their spots, along with their statues. Even Sabriye had her own statue. 

She must say that she was pleasantly surprised with how well it turned out. It was a statue of her, with a cloak on, standing straight as the cape of her cloak seemed like it was swaying to the side on a windy day (A/N: Sort of like Ruby Rose's first appearance in the Red Trailer.). Sabriye smiled with an impressed look on her face as she thought, 'Wow. Even if Charming Gold has a weird taste in poses, he at least knows my taste in poses. Simple but nice.'

All of a sudden, a screen appeared before her. The same could be said for the other contestants.  On the screen showed a symbol of a man drawn in dotted lines and other information about it. After the superpower ring had been placed into Sabriye's Running Man watch, the rules of the game were explained. 

Again, Sabriye tuned it out, already knowing the rules before they were explained. The game at last began as a forcefield covered the entire battle grounds. As Sabriye expected, Pala teamed up with Lonky and Popo, in hopes of eliminating Kuga, only to be betrayed and eliminated by the target himself after witnessing Kuga's power.

Kuga and Miyo formed an alliance between themselves, slowly followed by Liu, against Gai, who was eliminated by the brawns of the trio. Lonky stepped into the battle next. Being the cocky giraffe he was, he showed off his superpower, eliminating Kuga in the process, which Lonky deemed just, despite the distraught looks from Liu and Miyo. 

Popo soon joined in, looking at Liu and Miyo, looking just as cocky as Lonky. Miyo knew Lonky would have a plan in mind and beckoned, or rather, ordered Lonky and Popo, naming them cowards. Popo immediately beckoned Lonky to face Liu and Miyo head-on. However, Lonky wasn't feeling as confident as before and Popo was oblivious to that. 

Apparently, he had realised that he had only enough energy for one last shot. However, before Lonky could contemplate on what he should do, Popo forced him to face Liu and Miyo head-on alongside him. Lonky was then afraid that Popo might find out. Fortunately for him, Popo unknowingly helped Lonky save up the remaining energy he left by introducing his own - becoming supersized - much to Liu and Miyo's shock and Lonky's delight.

Popo boasted his power even more by mockingly saying, "Now, where did those two little rats run off to, huh?! They're so small I can't see them, hehe." He then attempted to stomp on Liu and Miyo. Fortunately, the two were able to dodge. Liu and Miyo started running around, trying to dodge Popo's attempts of crushing them to the ground.

Lonky was laughing at the scene before him. Eventually, it seemed like Liu and Miyo came up with a plan mentally as they started running towards Lonky. Popo aimed his hand at them. However, Liu and Miyo dodged, causing Popo to accidently crush Lonky to the ground, instead. Oblivious to what he had done to Lonky, Popo went to look for Liu and Miyo, who were hiding behind a pillar, panting, trying to catch their breath from running.

Unfortunately for them, Popo found them rather quickly. "Hey, you traitor!" Luckily, Pala had come to their aid. His shout caught Liu, Miyo and Popo's attention. "You're a-" Pala was crushed to ground before he could finish his sentence, much to Liu and Miyo's disappointment.

Surprisingly, he was all fine and dandy, despite the impact. Pala kept calling him a traitor as Popo crushed him to the ground multiple times. That was enough distraction for Liu and Miyo to scram. However, it was short-lasted as Popo noticed them and tried to crush them to the ground once again. While running, Liu and Miyo came to the conclusion of eliminating Lonky.

Popo was about to crush Liu to the ground - and it seemed that he succeeded. Everyone stopped. Lonky congratulated him for capturing Liu. However, when Popo checked his hand and the spot where he supposedly captured him, Liu was nowhere to be found, much to Lonky and Popo's shock. They tried to look for him as Liu teleported from behind Lonky, quickly eliminating him. 

Liu and Miyo proceeded to knock him down, without knowing that Pala was crushed from behind. All of a sudden, a blue light shone from underneath Popo, which Liu wondered aloud if that was Popo's shield emblem, when, in fact, it was Pala's power. Popo then proceeded to turn back in time and brought everyone back. 

That brought chaos as Liu, Popo, Lonky, Pala and Miyo were eliminated while Kuga and Gai face each other head-on as Gai tried to avenge Miyo, just like the previous game. Although Gai had removed Kuga's superpower ring, the speaker said that Gai was eliminated. It was revealed that Kuga had removed Gai's shield.

Kuga dropped the shield, thinking that he became the victor. However, everything was silent. The speaker didn't even announce his victory. Something was amiss. He knew that as he cautiously examined his surroundings. He then heard the slightest sound of metal dropping to the ground, which he found out was an emblem - his emblem. 

His eyes widened as he noticed someone appear before him, which was none other than the newest contestant, Sabriye Unisa. As the giant black paw pulled him into the void, Kuga hung on long enough to see Sabriye's face as she turned to him. It was rather surprising of what he saw - sympathy. 

He even heard the faint words, "I'm sorry, but victory is mine now," from her before finally being pulled into the void. Sabriye turned away from where Kuga once was with her eyes closed, exhaling the breath she was holding. Hearing the speaker say, "The winner of this match is... Sabriye!" Sabriye faced the camera that was before her and smirked. Her plan worked.

(Flashback)

When her superpower was shown, Sabriye deadpanned at how useless it was to be given to her of all people. It was the superpower of invisibility. She knew she didn't need another power of invisibility. After all, she had Psychic's. However, she also knew that she had to take it as it was part of the game. Abruptly, her eyes lit up as her signature smirk cracked on her face.

Sabriye might or might not have taken Pala's advice. She hid in places, far away from the other contestants, so that they would not detect her presence, as she watched the events play out, just like in the episode, until Kuga was the last one standing.

(End of flashback)

Sabriye looked at the camera with her smirk and did a double-finger salute and a wink to the audience that were watching her before the camera went off as the said audience went wild, as usual.
