dream gently opened his eyes, he looked around and realized sapnap was nowhere to he seen. assuming he had gotten up early to make breakfast or something, dream got out of bed and walked out of the room. as he walked out, he heard small sniffles coming from the bathroom. followed by short sobs that sounded like they were trying to be kept in.
"b- baby? are you alright?" dream said in a concerned tone as he walked over and placed two gentle knocks on the door.
"i- i'm alrig- ht.. i'll be out in a minute" sapnap said, his voice breaking.
"honey, what's wrong?" dream said.
"n- nothing. i'm fine"
"can i please come in?"
"f- fine" sapnap muttered. dream immediately opened the door and closed it behind him as he walked in to see sapnap sitting on the floor, his face red and cold from crying.
"baby, what happened?" dream said as he sat down next to him, gently wrapping his arms around him.
"i read what people were saying on twitter about us, its horrible" sapnap sniffled, more tears running down his face.
"aww sappy, don't think about those shitbags. all that matters is that we are together and we are happy"
"i- i know but still, it hurts"
"i know it does hun"
"i saw death threats towards me"
"sap, you'll be okay. we'll be okay. everything will be okay, i promise."
"you do?"
"i do. i would never break a promise"
"alright. c- can we just forget about this and go have pancakes?"
"anything to make you happy, love" dream said as he stood up, holding sapnaps hand as they walked out into the kitchen. sapnap sat down on a bar stool next to the counter as dream began to make pancakes.
after
he had made them, sapnap slowly took bites. finally when he had finished, he and dream went into the living room and watched tv.
"dream, does your family know about... us?"
"my family knows i'm gay but they don't know about us yet, why?"
"because my mom is kinda, unaccepting"
"oh, i'm sorry. you don't have to tell your family until your ready. don't feel pressured at all"
"thank you" sapnap smiled as he cuddled closer to dream.
"of course" dream giggled.
