First Day.

The commute from the campus to the city, was an hour and seemed to get worse each time; and I've only been here twice, so that says a lot.

Today, was my first day at Bieber Inc. I had just started my second year of college and still didn't know what to major in. Just last month, before the school year started up again, my Career Lifestyle counselor assigned me one task. I was to shadow somebody big in a career I'd like to pursue in. I, being pretty indecisive picked business management. Although my parents do have different jobs now, for more than 50 years, my father's side has been owners of very big businesses. If our family business isn't passed down to my brother, I'm the only candidate left.

The fairly cold, crisp air hit my face as soon as I stepped onto the crowded sidewalks of Times Square. I was now stuck in a crowd of New Yorkers waiting to cross the street. In the corner of my eye, I felt a stare. Looking over, an older man was smirking at me.

"Hey ma, what's on the menu tonight?" That same man who seems around his late thirties, early forties approached me.

The funny thing about this is, the fact I watched his slip his wedding band in his pocket, seconds before his encounter.

I kept my response, short, sweet, and classy. "Ask your wife." Left behind, was the same man. Who was before looking confident, but now, he looked pretty crushed. As of being a girl like me, turning him down.

If anything was harder than finding this place alone, is finding out what to wear to this place. This morning, I woke up at 5:30. I didn't have to, I could've woke up at 6:30 but today was more than serious. After finding out what to wear, I settled for something casual.

I checked my watch. It was 5 minutes before I was to make it here. "Oh, thank God." I stood in awe, gazing up at the very tall building in front of me. People in suits, their briefcases, designer clothes walking in and out of that building as if it were a child's candy shop.

A few short breaths later, and I found myself inside a huge place, people were chatting, scattered all around getting to where they need to be. My eyes followed the lights on the wall that lead up. Above me the words, BIEBER INC. shown in big letters and fairly bright lights.

I had never been at a place like this before. "Wow", I said in amazement.

"Pretty amazing, huh?" A beautiful woman, long brown hair, a defined face with an amazing figure stood beside me.

"I think that's an understatement."

She laughed, her hand appeared in front of me. "Grace. And you are?"

"I'm Demi." I introduced. "Well actually, I'm lost." I looked over at her, obvious confusion was on my face. The papers that I was given were already out, and in my hands. Grace took them into her own, observing them.

"Ah, the top floor." She muttered, "Let me help. I know this place better than DaVinci knew Mona Lisa." She looked straight ahead, as she walked. "Follow me."

My slow, short legs scurried behind her fast long legs down a long, dimmed, and narrow hallway. We stood in an elevator that traveled from the lobby straight to the 30th and last floor in a short five minutes.

The loud ding caused me to jump. Grace, who stood in the middle of the elevator, casually walked out. "She's with me." I smiled at the woman behind the front desk who seemed to roll her eyes at Graces' appearance.

She guided me into an office which on the door read,

Grace Hollister, Co-Executive.

"Sit." She demanded. "Tell me why you're here."

I straightened out my pencil skirt, sitting down in front of her desk. "Well, I'm in college and my Career Lifestyle counselor set this up for me to shadow somebody big, so I got sent here."

Her eyes widened, as a sly smile came across her face. "Shadowing?" I nodded, "For?" She asked.

"Mr. Bieber." I answered accordingly.

Her smile dropped and her eyes narrowed. "Ah, the boss himself. He's quite the man." She winked, "If you get what I mean." I chuckled, which came out sounding quite nervous. "Kidding." She chirped. "Come with me. I'll have Ms. Cyrus show you around."

Once again, we were walking. She stopped infront of the desk we were at when we entered. "Destiny, I'll need you to show Ms..." She trailed off.

"Lovato." I finished.

She smirked. "Show Ms. Lovato around." The blonde behind the desk stood. "Thank you." Grace patted my back, before waltzing away.

"Is she always this.." I stopped, thinking for a word that described Grace perfectly.

"Fake?" Ms. Cyrus asked. I shrugged, "Yeah."

She motioned for me and I followed beside her. "She's something."

"Yeah, Co-Executive?" I asked.

"Exactly. She's been here a year and is already at that spot. I've been here 3 years and have been a secretary."

"Oh, wow."

We entered a room, which I think was the break room. "I'll give it to ya if you survive a week here. She drives all of the newbies away."

"Well, I'm just shadowing. I wasn't hired here." I explained. "I'm only in college."

"That explains a lot. You look young. Who are you shadowing for?"

She handed me a cup full of coffee, I took it. "Mr. Bieber."

By the look of her face, she nearly dropped the cup. "Damn, the boss?"

I nodded. "I guess."

"All I can say is good luck." She sipped the hot coffee. "He's one tough guy."

Her and I finished our cup of coffee and went back out. 'Ms. Cyrus' was actually Destiny. I prefer calling her that over anything this too professional anyways. "So where is Mr. Bieber? Will I get to meet him?"

"I'd hope so. Why don't I show you his office?" I nodded and we walked some more.

Her and I stood outside an office with big double doors. The plaque on the wall read, Justin Bieber, Head Executive. "Here we are, my love. Care to knock or should I?"

"I will."

She stepped back, "It's all yours." My hand reached up, getting ready to knock.

"Ms. Cyrus!" Her and I turned around to Grace who was standing 10 feet away from us. "Take Ms. Lovato back to the front and show her around out there." She came up to us, opening the door to Mr. Bieber's office slightly just so she could walk in. "Mr. Bieber is not to be disturbed today." We flinched once she slammed his door shut.

"Maybe fake was the wrong word." I said, looking at Destiny. "Bitch sounds better."
