You didn't know how long you were unconscious, nor when a servant came in and tended to the minor cuts and bruises you had. The one thing you did know however, was that the atmosphere around you had changed significantly when you awoke.
With a small groan, you pushed yourself out of bed and left your room.
The first unsettling detail you noticed was the lack of sound bouncing off the corridors. No footsteps, no voices, nothing indicating that there were people nearby. But that couldn't be right.
You went down every hall and took a quick look in every room you passed. But with every turn you took, you were just met with vacancy and an ominous silence. You could feel cold sweat running down your forehead the more you searched.
'Am I still dreaming? How could there not be a single person in this massive palace? Have they all simply left? Are they outside the castle walls and in the village? Or, perhaps they've been- '
Your thoughts stopped right there, as did your rapid walking.
'...or perhaps they've been subjugated to the same bloody fate like so many others.'
But there was no way that could be the case. As cruel as Vector had become, surely he wouldn't turn against everyone in his kingdom, right? Surely there was still a part deep inside him that held his humanity, yes?
You desperately recited these phrases to yourself, thinking that if you did, they'd be true. But if you've learned anything from this recent 'conquest' of his, it'd be that Vector had become crueler than you could ever imagine.
"I have yet to check the execution chamber," You muttered. "It's quite possible he's there since he isn't in his room."
In a flash, you made your way to that cursed chamber and silently pleaded that your terrible conclusions would be proven wrong.

But you should've known better than to hang on to a sliver of hope that was never there to begin with.
It was the stench that hit your senses first. You didn't even have to walk into the room to know exactly what had happened in there.
'Blood, and lots of it.'
Fighting the urge to turn back then and there, you pushed onwards and bore witness to the utter carnage that lay just beyond the chamber door.
The sight was much worse than you originally thought.
The amount of bodies that lay dead and torn up was staggering. Many of them were simply thrown to the side and piled up like trash, blood seeping out of every deep wound and painting the floor a crimson hue. It was hard to tell who these people even were. The damage done to their face and body was so horrendously severe that you could hardly see any identifiable traits left.
You tried to look away from the horrific scenes but they seemed to be everywhere. No matter where you turned, your eyes were met with a gruesome sight. But above all the blood and corpses, you saw a familiar figure.
Vector was sitting upon his throne, a hand holding his bloodied sword while his distant, violet eyes oversaw the scene--completely void of emotion.
Your senses sharpened immediately.
Despite looking calmer than ever, his aura practically screamed 'danger' which meant you had to approach with caution.
"Vector," You began calmly. "What have you done?"
