From then on, Kennedy and Ophelia went on more dates and got closer and closer, they had now been dating for almost a year. Kennedy had told her sister about how the date went, and officially came out as gay to her, which she supported, but hadn't told her parents yet.

Aside from all that excitement, Kennedy still had to work at the bookshop. She didn't get tired of it, it was just Nick and Katrina.

Kennedy walked through the door to see Nick and Katrina making out as per usual, however she still made a point of saying hello.

"Morning, you two." Kennedy said to them.

No reply, so Kennedy just walked past and started to work as she usually did.
Eventually, Nick and Katrina stopped kissing and started working. Katrina loosened up and started to work a bit more too, now that she could work with Nick.

Kennedy wasn't fully aware if they knew that she was gay, but she knew Nick knew something was up. She hadn't told them either yet as she just didn't know how so she let them figure it out.

Ophelia came to the book store to look for yet another book to buy, and take Kennedy out for lunch. She was one of those people who'd buy loads of books and read them, but still continues buying.

"Hey lover." Ophelia walked up to Kennedy and said.

"Hey you."

They kissed. Nick and Katrina looked at each other, with a confused expression on their faces.

"Wait, are you gay?" Nick said.

"Yeah."

"Are you sure? Cause I heard it's usually just a phase." Katrina said.

Kennedy couldn't believe what she was hearing. She'd never experienced this reaction before (as she'd only told a few people) so she wasn't entirely sure what to say.

"Err it's not. I'm definitely gay, I'm surprised you didn't know, I've been gay for nearly a year now." She said.

She looked at Ophelia with a confused expression on her face as if to say 'what should I do now'. But Ophelia started talking before Kennedy could think of how to respond anymore.

"Ok first off, don't say that to my girlfriend. Being gay is not a phase. You should do you research on what to and what not to say to someone who's gay, cause that's really rude. What if I said to you, oh are you just dating him for now, it's just a phase, you'll grow out of it, blah blah blah. Huh? What would you say to that?"

"Ok jeez, I'm sorry." Katrina said.

Nick started laughing in the corner because of how Ophelia basically told Katrina to shut up.

"What are you laughing at? She's gay so that means she ain't never gonna be with you again."

Nick stopped laughing.

"That's right! I'll be with you instead."
Kennedy said as she gazed into Ophelia's eyes.

"Aw babe, that was so cute. I love you."

"I love you too."

They kissed again.

"Aww." One customer said. "Could I buy this book now?"

"Oh off course sir, right this way." Katrina said.

Katrina went and attended to the customer.

"Anything else you want from here before we go to lunch?" Kennedy asked.

"Maybe a new book?" Ophelia said while smiling at Kennedy to try and convince her to let her buy yet another book.

"You probably have a copy of most, if not all the books here." She laughed.
