Both Alex and Nella leaned forward preparing to embrace the teen girl. They were interrupted by Luke's arm.
He placed his forearm across Alex's torso ultimately restricting Nella's mobility. Luke motioned for them to poof out not wanting to disturb Julie.
"Dude, why'd you stop me? Julie needs a hug." Alex told the sleeveless ghost.
"Bro, a ghost hug isn't the feel-good moment that you think it is. All right?"
"That's fair, we would have just passed through her," Nella told their drummer now finding the appeal of Luke's decision.
"Trust me. What Julie needs right now is just a bit of privacy." Luke said trying to get Alex to agree with him.
"You know what? I think you poofed us out because you can't handle when people cry, I should know. I cried in a room for 25 years, and I didn't get a single hug from either of you." Alex pouted at his bandmates. Alex would know the warning signs of needing comfort considering he spent the last 25 years crying alone in a corner compared to Nella and Reggie who spent it in each other's arms.
AJ scoffed at that statement, not only was he being dramatic but she gave him a hug, or a variation of one. Just as she went to protest the blond pointed in her direction, "Before you say anything, attempting to strangle me doesn't count." Nella proceeded to roll her eyes muttering under her breath, "Well it started as a hug."
"All right. Bring it in." Reggie tried to embrace the blond but Alex shouted at him causing him to jolt away, "Don't touch me!"
"This is why no one hugs you."
"I'll take that hug Reg," Reggie wasted no time in pulling Nella into his chest, wrapping his arms around her.
Reggie missed the warmth of Nella's body on him, after that 25 years of cuddling he refused to go into the afterlife without it.
