After Buddar finished cleaning Shadow's burn, she put the cloth down and sat next to him. He was too weak to walk due to the fact that he was severely burned, but she was going to stay with him.
Shadow timidly put his arm around her and pulled her closer. Buddar smiled when he rested his head on her shoulder lightly. The two stayed that way for a while, then Navy walked into the room. She stopped when she saw Shadow and Buddar, then her eyes turned blue and she smiled. She walked up to the two her smile faded when she saw Shadow's burn. "Lord Shadow," She said. "That burn is very severe, you're going to need medicine if it's going to heal."
Shadow looked down, but said nothing. "Shadow, please." Buddar said. "I know someone who can help you, you just need to let me find them."
Shadow squeezed his eyes shut, a single tear rolled down his cheek. "I don't want you to leave." He whispered.
Buddar felt a wave of sadness wash over her. She wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "I know." She whispered in his ear. "But I will come back."
"You promise?" He asked.
"I promise." She said. They let go of each other, Shadow had tears streaming down his face. Buddar felt a jolt of sadness pierce her heart.
Navy turned to Buddar. "I shall stay here with him," She said. "Now, go."
Buddar nodded, then walked over to the massive doors. She carefully opened it wide enough to that only a bit of sunlight came into the room, and didn't shine on Shadow. She glanced back at him, then walked out and closed the door behind her. Then she ran off into the forest.
"Buddar!" Link called out as he rode Epona through the forest. "Buddar!"
I really hope she's alright. He thought. If she wasn't, I would never forgive myself.
Suddenly, something in the trees moved. Link stopped Epona. He stared into the trees, but he couldn't see what it was. He hopped off of Epona and drew his sword, ready in case it was a monster. Whatever it was came closer, but he couldn't make out what it was. It was only a few feet away from him, Link tensed, ready for a fight if it came to that.
"Link!" A familiar voice shouted joyfully.
Link's eyes widened. "Buddar?!" He asked.
She came out of the bushes, a huge smile on her face. Link smiled and ran towards her, throwing his arms around her. "I missed you so much!" He said, hugging her tightly. "Where were you? Are you hurt?"
Buddar shook her head. "I'm perfectly fine," She said. "But a friend of mine is not, he needs our help."
Link nodded. "I will do everything I can." He said. "Where is he?"
Buddar pointed in the direction where she had come from. "He's in a palace in that direction." She said. "Come on, there's no time to waste!"
Link nodded and helped her onto Epona, then jumped on. Then they rode into the trees. I never knew there was a palace this deep in the forest. Link thought. Unless... Wait, is she talking about the Castle of Shadows?
Link shook his head. No, she couldn't possibly be. He thought. Shadow Link would have killed her before she could escape.
