Y/h/h: Your Hogwarts House

------------

You kept your head low as your eyes focused on the floor. You just had to make it through these swarms of students and go to Dumbledore's office. You weren't in trouble, no far from it, but you still didn't like the idea of going to headmaster's office. All you want to do was have your meeting with him then go on your way back to your lesson.

But when did anything ever go your way?

Exiting the Grand Staircase on the seventh floor, you kept your eyes glued to the floor as you headed down the corridor. And that was your downfall. You were so fixated on the cobble flooring that you didn't see the person walking towards you. Not that he was looking either.

Walking into him, you stumbled backwards as your books fell from your grasp. "I- I'm sorry." You quickly apologised, dropping to the floor to gather them. The boy doing the same.

"It's alright, I should be the one to apologise." He argued helping you pick your books up. "I wasn't looking where I was going."  You still hadn't made eye contact with him.

You were about to argue with him, say that it was your fault when he helped you stand. "Here." He gently said handing your Transfiguration book back. Following his voice you finally looked at him. It was Sirius Black. The school's rebel. You had to admit you had a soft spot for him but you were too shy to ever say anything.

"Th-thanks." You quietly spoke, giving a small smile. One that Sirius smirked at. Taking the book from his hands, you looked away, turning your attention back to the floor. "I've got to go. Bye." And with that you left him standing there.

He turned and watched you walk off, going to the gargoyle that guarded Dumbledore's office. The exact place that Sirius had just come from. He couldn't help but become intrigued with you. Normally when girls came into contact with him they'd swoon over him but you were the opposite. You barely even looked in his general direction let alone speak to him.

You intrigued him immensely.

------------

Walking out into the courtyard, Sirius found and joined his friends at the bench they were sat at. They all had a free period and so decided on sittng outside for a change rather then being cooped up in their common room.

Remus was reading his book as both Peter and James were discussing a new prank. Any other time Sirius would be giving his full and undivided attention to working out the prank but not today. No, his mind had forced him to zone out. He couldn't do anything but think about you. You were different to everyone else he's met and it bugged him.

"Sirius!" James called, pulling Black out of his trance.

"Huh?" Sirius answered looking to his friend. James sighed as Peter and Remus glanced at him.

"We're talking about the prank." James stated as he stood up from the bench. But then noticed the distracted look in his best friend's face. "What's up with you?" He questioned.

"I bumped into this girl when I was leaving Dumbledore's office-"

"Of course it was a girl." James cut off with a smirk. Sirius glared at him.

"But she was different." Sirius stated. "She was shy. Barely spoke a word to me. Didn't even look at me until I handed her book back."

Remus looked down seeming to be in deep thought. After a moment, he turned back to Sirius. "Did she have y/h/c hair and was about yay high." He asked. Sirius nodded.

"Yeah and she was hugging her books as if they were going to apparate any second." This made Remus laugh. He knew exactly who Sirius was referring to.

"That was Y/n."

"Who?" Sirius asked although he heard Remus the first time.

"Y/n." Peter repeated. "She's in our Potions class."

How did Sirius not know that? Glancing from Peter to James and Remus they both nodded. "Yeah mate, you walk past her every time we enter the classroom." James explains like it was obvious.

"Huh." Sirius said stroking his chin in deep thought.

------------

The Marauders successfully pulled off their prank in the Dungeons on the Slytherins but Sirius still couldn't get you out of his head. After running back to their dorm and staying there for a bit he made his decision.

He was going to find you and get you to have at least one conversation with him before the day was up. Peter seemed to know what Sirius was thinking and so spoke up. "She's down in the hall."

Nodding to Peter, he thanked him before closing the boys' dorm door behind him.

Quietly walking from Gryffindor Tower down to the Great Hall, Sirius shoved his hands in his pockets as he reached the Hall doors. He stood there for a moment trying to work out where you were.

Furrowing his eyebrows, he scanned the room for the hundredth time before his eyes landed on you. You were right at the top of y/h/h table, near where the teachers sat. It wasn't that the hall was busy, on the contrary Sirius just genuinely couldn't see you.

Your back was facing out into the hall and so you wouldn't notice Sirius as he walked down the hall and over to you.

"Is this seat taken?" Sirius asked quietly.

Not expecting it you jumped, your eyes immediately looking to who spoke. Of course it was Sirius. "No- no it's not." You answered, your eyes darting away from the Gryffindor and busing yourself with the book you were reading.

Sirius couldn't help but find it kind of cute how you did that. He smiled to himself. Sitting down beside you, he watched you read for second before speaking. "I umm... I came to apologise for walking into you eariler." He said.

Not taking your eyes off the book you answered him back. "You've already said that." You pointed out although your voice was quiet.

"Oh yeah." Sirius muttered to himself, realising that too. Drawing in a breath he sighed. "This is gonna be harder then I thought."

"Hey urr... can I ask something?" He asked, you nodded giving him a quick side glance. "Why were you going to Dumbledore's office? You don't seem the type to ever be in trouble."

Reluctantly closing the book you turned to him but as usual your attention remained on anything but Sirius' face. "Dumbledore just wanted to see how I was doing." You answered honestly. And that was probably the longest sentence you've ever held with anyone beside the Professors. "Why were you there?"

This caught Sirius off guard as his mind was processing what you said before. Regardless, he composed himself and smirked. "McGonagall sent me there after I transfigured her desk." He paused. "And her chair." He said rubbing the back of his head. "I guess she's getting annoyed with telling me off herself."

You held a lot of respect for Professor McGonagall but even you couldn't help but find that slightly amusing. Sirius saw this and smiled too.

"Yeah... I actually got off pretty light." He admitted. You looked at him for longer this time before smiling. "Going back to you, who sent you to him anyway?"

"McGonagall." You answer. "She was concerned because of how quiet I am in her lessons." Sirius nodded. You both then went into a deep conversation, explaining and answering everything Sirius wanted to know before he told you all about the pranks him and the Marauders have pulled.
