Chapter 125

Saturday, July 15

After my bachelor party last night, I didn't go to sleep because I was so anxious. Part of me is nervous and the other part is really excited.

Anxiously, I put my shirt on and tried to get my tie tied but since I'm so damn nervous, my fingers fumbled over it.

"Blake, you need to calm down," DJ chuckled, helping me with the tie.

"I can't, man. What if she decides she doesn't wanna do this and she leaves me at the alter?"

"She won't. Briana loves you and she's not going anywhere," he reassured me, "now, I'm gonna go get you something to drink so you can relax."

He walked out and I sat down, watching my dad & Briana's dad help the boys get ready.

Relax, Blake. She loves you. She's not gonna leave you.

I am a nervous wreck. While I was getting the final touches done on my hair, my mind flooded with negative thoughts. Everyone has been trying to calm me down, but it doesn't help.

"What if he realizes he doesn't actually wanna get married? What if he leaves me at the alter?" I gasp, "what if he's not in love with me anymore?!"

"Bri, sweetie, you gotta relax. Blake is head over heels in love with you. He's been wanting to marry you ever since you first started dating. He's gonna be standing right there when you walk down that aisle, so stop worrying," Monique said.

I smiled at my best friend as Lisa finished my hair. I stood up to give Monique a hug, then my mom walked in.

"I just ran into DeAndre downstairs and he said Blake is just as nervous as you are," she said, handing me two Tylenol.

"Why is he nervous?" I asked.

"The same reason you are," my mom said as I went to put on my dress. With Monique's help, I got the dress on and when I looked in the mirror, I kinda wanted to cry.

I walked out and my mom immediately started crying. She's such a sap.

"Briana, you look so beautiful," she said, making me smile, "I can't believe my baby is getting married."

We took some pre-wedding pictures, then went downstairs so we could go to the church.

Standing at the front of this church, I'm nervous as hell. I'm watching everyone come down the aisle and my palms are sweaty as shit. I know as soon as Kayla makes her down, Briana's coming after her. God, I hope I don't cry when I see her.

As soon as I heard "Here Comes the Bride," my heart began to pound. I saw Briana and her dad and I did exactly what I didn't want to do. As they walked down the aisle, my eyes started to water and I felt like a bitch, but I didn't care.

She looks even more beautiful than she normally does and I didn't even think that was possible.

When I was making my way down the aisle with my dad, I noticed Blake's eyes were glossy. Oh my God, he's crying.

After my dad gave me away, I took my spot next to Blake. He whispered "you look beautiful," and I whispered back a "thank you." I was so out of it, I didn't even realize that the pastor finished talking and it was time to exchange vows.

"Huh?" I asked, shaking my head.

"It's time to exchange vows," the pastor smiled.

Blake & I turned to face each other, he took my hands in his and he looked into my eyes. Since I'm not good at expressing my feelings, we decided to do traditional vows.

"Do you Blake, take Briana to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part?"

"I do."

"Do you Briana, take Blake to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part?"

"I do."

Blake smiled down at me and placed the ring on my finger. "With this ring, I thee wed."

I took the ring from Monique and placed it on Blake's finger. "With this ring, I thee wed."

"And now, by the power vested in me by the State of California, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

With my hands still in his, Blake leaned down and kissed me, making sure not to get too carried away.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, Mr and Mrs Blake Griffin."

Everyone stood up and applauded as Blake & I made our way out of the sanctuary.

Besides being a nervous mess earlier, today has been absolutely perfect. I am officially Briana Griffin.
