Laura stayed quiet; she is still debating whether it is a good idea to break her promise.
"Listen, when you get to the hospital, talk to Malee to see if she wants to tell her mom about her secret. That way, you won't be breaking your promise." Laura was cautiously listening to Gulf.
Laura opens and closes the car door.
Walked toward the passenger side of the car and signal for Gulf to lower the window.
"Gulf, thank you. I will talk to Mal this afternoon. Have a nice day, brother." Laura smiled at Gulf and began to walk. Adjusting her backpack.
Gulf smiles at her and drove off, heading to the hospital.
**************
Even after spending a great day; well, a few minutes with Gulf two days ago, Mew is still feeling down. Still battling the mood swings as part of the illness side effects.
Recently, Mew has been analyzing what is essential in life if life is worth it. Even though Lamai is finally back at the apartment, one of her conditions to go back home is to keep driving Mew to the hospital and pick him up.
Mew knows his mom, and even when he tries to be independent in that area, he knows that sometimes also if he wants to drive, he may get dizzy or lose consciousness. That is extremely dangerous for him and the other drivers.
Mew accepted the conditions, at least his mom was back with her husband, and Mew was alone. Lately, he wants to be alone, not wanting to do anything.
Secretly, Lamai insisted on taking him to the hospital was for her to make sure he is receiving the treatment. She does not want him to skip treatments like last year. She will make sure of that.
"We are here, son." Lamai parked her car in the hospital's main parking lot and gave Mew a cheerful smile while holding the steering wheels.
"Okay, Lamai. I will call you as soon as I finished with the treatment." Mew tried to open the door, but Lamai's hand stop him.
Mew turned his head to look at his mom.
"Mew darling, take your time. I am at home doing nothing. So, I am not in a rush. Why don't you visit the friend you went to visit the other day? Get out of the house and have some fun with friends more often."
Mew sign faintly.
"Mom, we are not exactly what you call friends. As a matter of fact, I don't know what we are yet. Don't push it. I know you."
Lamai smiled because her son knows her very well.
"Okay, call me and remember that I love you."
"I love you too, mom." Mew kissed his mom's cheek and got out of the car.
Mew waved goodbye to his mom.
Lamai honked her horn.
Instead of going to take his treatment, Mew decided to walk for a while in one of the hospital gardens. Mew sat on a bench facing the water fountain. Maybe the water's sound can calm him down or help him understand what's going on with him right now.
Mew sigh deeply
Sitting on the bench, he looks at the water, flowing from the fountain. Typically, this could bring him peace or inspiration to use it later with one of his colorful artworks, but that is even left behind a long time ago.
"My life is a mess right now. I am just a burden for Lamai and everybody else around me. [Mew lower his head] Look at her, losing weight, bringing me, and picking me from the hospital. She is better off without me; I am just a burden in her life. She deserves to be happy."
