♡ Part 122: the falling duo ♡

Start from the beginning

the group eyed the boy who came their way and it was almost as if sakura and sasuke knew that something was going to go terribly wrong once sai decided to stand with them. sasuke's brow twitched and continued.

sasuke: the solution is to talk it out.

sakura: i'm sure both of you don't want to break up so sasuke's right, talking it our might solve things.

the artist who poised himself with a scrutinizing gaze flashed a smile to his friends.

sai: i think that breaking up is quite a reasonable decision indeed. the two of you spare different personalities, and according to my books, although it's nice to have differences it can still erupt possible problems between the lovers.

sakura's hand twitched.

sakura: what was that?

sai's smile widened.

sai: you two are great individuals, although when put together... well, i believe we've all seen how much the two of you don't collide well together─

sakura: you giant idiot! shut up!

sakura raged with anger and as she dared to grab a hold of sai's clothing, sasuke smirked and held her back.

sasuke: as much as i want you to punch him, i won't let you.

sasuke touched her chin and forced her to look over to the troubled duo, and she immediately halted. hidan and shikamaru's faces were blank yet their eyes were left wide, an uncomfortable ambiance of some sort filling the air and leaving no room for sakura to think of hitting sai anymore.

sakura: breaking up isn't the solution for this.

hidan: but it's one of them, dammit.

he ran his hair through his silver locks before trudging his way towards the back of the school, shikamaru turned his head to the side and the loving duo's hearts sank.

sakura: shikamaru, it's going to be okay.

the nara sighed and shrugged his shoulders.

shikamaru: yeah, i know.

his voice was rather toneless than believing, and sakura frowned.

sakura: we won't let you guys continue like this.

sai crossed his arms and cracked his neck out of the awkward ambiance he was feeling.

sai: i mean, you can't really do anything sakura. this is their relationship.

sakura flashed sai a lopsided grin and sasuke's grip over her tightened.

sakura: and you see this? it's my fist, and i'll gladly stick it down your throat.

shikamaru turned on his heels and began to take his leave from the people he loved the most.

shikamaru: i'll see you guys in class.

silence filled the air and the trio was left to stare at the receding figure. sakura's heart broke when seeing hidan's troubled face─ but when seeing shikamaru, the person who stood by her when situations seemed as though there was no future for them, she couldn't allow neither herself nor sasuke to allow this to continue.

shikamaru finally found his happiness, hidan finally found his escape─ to allow that to break, it wasn't something sakura would allow to happen.

sakura: we're going to help hidan, i made a promise to him.

the raven peered down to the pinkette and narrowed his eyes. it was a monday morning and her eyes shined rays of ambitions and light, and he couldn't possibly let that go away. with a smile, he kissed the top of her head.
