It was black. Everything. Your shut your eyes tightly, ready to let go.
But what you didn't expect was, a cold feeling tickling your feet, peeking you eyelids open, you looked down and saw water collecting at your feet.
Almost gasping, you looked around to see the source only to end up staring at your own mother. Watching, as she glowed, water pouring outwards from her hands which shone like the sun. However, although this glow filled every crevice of your line of sight, it didn't hurt your eyes, no, it was a warm glow. Much different to the previous red glow of flames, it glistened like sunlight pouring through the gap in the curtains.
Feeling the heat around you begin to dissolve into nothing, you looked back down to Bakugou and wiped the hair that was laced with sweat away from his forehead.
Kissing his nose, you let go off him just for a moment, and scavenged through the now damp ashes of broken furniture that surrounded you, sprinting up to your mother.
"Mother!" you said, embracing her tightly. Joy raced through your veins, not only by the release of tension, but by the fact that your mother was safe. She stroked your head softly, planting a kiss on it as a smile came to her lips.
"It's alright, petal, it's alright now." she said softly as a tear fell down her cheek.

"He should be okay, just a bit bruised but nothing is broken, just let him rest for a while." the muffled voice said from the other room.
You waited outside, fiddling with your fingers.
"Okay, thank you doctor." you mother's muffled voice replied.
As the door opened, you cleared your throat and stood upright. The doctor smiled as he walked past you and left the palace.
"He will be just fine." you mother said, interlocking her arms with yours.
You walked through the palace with her, watching as various people cleaned the ashes away, replacing the furniture.
When you reached the garden, you sat on the stone bench next to your mother. A sigh escaped her lips as he cupped your cheek.
"This was where your father proposed." she said, a smile reaching her lips as she retraced the memories in her head.
Unintentionally, you smiled remembering the way he used to look at you mother.
"It was the night he broke into the castle for the second time, it was in that moment that I knew I loved him."
Her eyes landed on yours, stroking your cheek softly.
"Y/n, I'm sorry for lying to you, and your father is aswell."
An ache pained your heart, remembering the last words you said to your father.
"I wish I could talk to him." you said sadly.
She smiled and shook her head, "He understands, he forgives you."
A tear slipped down your face as you held your mother close.
"Y/n, it's time for you to make your own decisions, and I think you should decide who you marry." she said looking down at you.
Quickly, looking up at her, your eyes widened.
"You mean..."
"Yes, he can stay here." she nodded, giving you one of those smiles that only a few people in the world are able to give. "Now, go on, go check on him." She giggled.
Doing as she said, you nodded and got up, rushing back into the castle.
As you walked through the entrance, a familiar red head waited there, leaning against the wall.
"Spying on me?" you smirked.
"Maybe." Kirishima replied.
He opened out his arms which you cuddled into, feeling the warmth of your trusted childhood friend. Deep down, no matter how much he wanted you to be his, all he wanted was your happiness.
"Mr angry pants is probably wondering where you are." he chuckled.
Smiling, you nodded and waved to him.
"Love you forever, Kiri."
