Forced To Love

Chapter 2

Three years ago in Master Fu's shop.

Marinette was 20 while Adrien was 21. It was a special day. The day in which they finally defeated Hawkmoth. Master Fu died due to old age but his ghost remained.

Both Adrien and Marinette were to come back to his shop so they could say their Holder's Vows. Something all Ladybug and Black Cat holders would say to each other. Though, only when they actually started a relationship.

Lovers when together,
Strangers when apart,
For when I leave, feel sorrow,
For as I shall to you,

Remember my connection,
The thing that bonds us most,
I am not your soulmate,
For we have lost our souls,

Remember our relationship
The times we've touched and kissed
Cause when I leave, I won't come back
I'll fall for someone else,

So this is why we can't depart,
For if we do we lose

I'll use my cataclysm

Wish I chose my lovers side
But now I think I'm fine

I'll call out for my lucky charm
And please resolve it quick
It only takes a small mistake

And as I say this vow to you
The box is in your hands
If I can't take up all your heart
Then let the box instead

Let the miracles rise inside
For they need our love too
It's me who takes the punishments
And me who slowly dies

And when the times decide to change
We must remember to follow accordingly
The guardian must protect the box
And lover protect its God

It was something meaningful. Meant for the ends of using these forbiden miraculouses. Something that touched their hearts dearly. Every single stanza with a hidden truth. Each of the measures would lead them to their fates.

Present

The whole vow was significant. And to this day known as proposal day, they've followed to what the vows said.

The morning arrived

And Adrien walked into the bakery and found Sabine running it.

"Good morning, can I go see Marinette" ?

"I'm sorry dear, she's not here anymore".

" What do you mean"?

"She took a flight for America".

" what? Why"?

"Uh, we can't discuss that here. Probably later upstairs. Though, you might not like what were going to tell you" .

"Oh. Guess I'll be back later then".

Adrien left and walked towards the park and took a seat on an empty bench. He pulled his phone out and called Marinette.

And she answered.

" Adrien "?

" Marinette! Where are you"?

"On a plane Adrien. My parents want me to marry some complete worthless stranger".

" W-what "?

" I'm so sorry Adrien. I love you. So so very much. But this was my parents decision and I'm guessing this'll be my fate. Marrying a complete stranger.

Adrien, remember the vows. We have to forget eventually. I love you, and goodbye ".

And she hung up.

Adrien started processing the words she just said. And, now he wished he were never a superhero. He wished to be a normal person. To do anything. To never have encountered the miraculous. Cause then, he'd still have his soul. It would've never been consumed by the black cat miraculous in the first place. And maybe, he'd meet Marinette in a different way.

And maybe, just maybe, they could still have something to call theirs.

Many hours later, Marinette arrived at Gotham. She found her luggage and looked for a man that was supposed to be taking her to her hotel room.

So she looked everywhere and soon spotted an elderly man holding a small piece of paper with the name Marinette written on it in fine writing.

So she walked over to him.

" This is for Marinette Dupain-Cheng, right"? She asked.

"Indeed it is".

She smiled and realized. It was happening. She was forgetting him. And her head started hurting the more she tried remembering.

" Is something wrong, miss"?

"No, my head just hurts. I'm sure it was from the high altitude or something". She smiled and the two walked towards the car. They drove off and soon they stopped right in front of the Wayne 5 Star Hotel.

" Thank you sir, and, when exactly is the date to the arranged marriage going to be"?

"Tomorrow night, miss".

" Alright, thank you sir".

Alfred left and Marinette slowly went inside with her things. Still not knowing who she was going to marry. But at least, she had this entire day to herself. Tomorrow would be the worst night of her life.

So, Marinette headed up to her room and pulled out her phone. She now completely forgot about the blonde and when she opened her phone, he was right there.

"Adrien"

"Tikki? Is there anyway that I wouldn't have to forget him"?

" I'm sorry Marinette. The only way would be if you wrote every single thing about him that you enjoyed to actually remember why you loved him. But, I can't get rid of the curse. It's permanent ".

" Oh, so the vows maintain all power".

"They do. They lead you to everything you have to find. Or that's what the past guardians said".

" so it's for them to blame".

"It's not, and I'm sorry once again".

" Tikki, it wasn't your fault"

"It was, Marinette. Many many years ago, Plagg and I were told to create something powerful all miraculous lovers were to read. Before the vows, both lovers who wore miraculouses had hard times not understanding how to sustain their relationship. The lack of balance with one having more power than the other. This was also known as selfish.

Every set has different vows and they all have different things written down. But every single time the Ladybug and Black Cat holders would fall in love, they'd eventually die. All because there wasn't much balance afterwards. But with the vows, it gave both partners equal power. And with me and Plagg giving the words a lot of power, then it's technically our fault".

Tikki looked sad. She didn't like seeing her holder like this. And when it came to revealing truths, everything was much worse. Especially when the bad truths were about her.

" it's okay Tikki. It's all in the past and, right now, your not one to blame. My parents are. Tomorrow night, I'm getting married to a complete stranger. From what i heard, im getting married to a complete idiot. Literally threw everything away in just a few hours. Wonder how he'll break every part of me".

Pretty lame chapter, but we'll have some tea spilling in the next. On monday.
