Amber has always found it odd that every year on Christmas Eve she is bored. It could be from the anticipation of unwrapping her gifts. Or it could be seeing her family's reaction to the homemade gifts she made for each of them. She never knows. Amber usually just blames it on the fact that she has done everything imaginable before Christmas Eve during her Winter break. She has played an abundance amount of PC and mobile games as well as reading, finishing five books cover-to-cover. Amber has even claimed to has seen every movie ever produced, yet there she is. On the night of Christmas Eve. Watching Iron Man 2 with her brother, Trevor, on the couch.

Please, don't mistake my words. Amber has seen Iron Man 2. She has seen every Marvel movie and enjoys them deeply. Amber often thinks, what if superheroes existed and people were gifted with crazy powers. What if those people were saving humanity, and the earth, time and time and again from unimaginable danger from our world and other worlds unknown. What if she was one of those who were so lucky to be born or receive those gifts. Oh, the things she would do. Amber's mind runs wild when she thinks about it. Especially as she watches Tony Stark fly through the air, dodging buildings and missiles.

Amber is only watching this movie because Trevor hasn't seen it even, which is surprising to Amber along with the rest of the Evergreen family for the only son talks about them. It confuses Amber how her brother hasn't seen half of the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet watched Endgame understanding everything. But that's not her problem, is it?

Amber looks down at her Fitbit, and 11:45 flashes back at her. Her heart rate picks up, thinking about how Christmas day is only 15 minutes away. She already had a good idea of what she is getting. Clothes and money, as always. Though what she was most excited about is her new Laptop. Amber has been dying to have a Laptop. Being able to do her homework and/or watch Youtube videos from her bed is a dream of hers. For the past few weeks, Amber has been using Trevor's and Kimberly's, Amber's older siblings. Now, she's getting one for her own. Maybe that's what Amber is counting down to.

Amber is lost in thought about her new Laptop, and the ending of Iron Man 2, she didn't even realize that midnight had gone past. Abruptly, in the middle of her conversation with her brother, Amber gasps and checks the time. 12:25 is the time that gets Amber to jump off the couch and rush to her sister, whose room is upstairs. Well aware that her sister is sleeping, Amber bursts through Kimberly's door.

"It's Christmas!" Amber shouts.

Kimberly sits up from her sleeping position in a daze. After blinking a few times, Kimberly tiredly asks if they can open presents in her room.

"No! we do that almost every year," Amber whined, "Let's do it downstairs. Plus, there are too many presents to bring upstairs."

The Evergreen house is a one and a half story with a bedroom, bathroom, and small living space upstairs and everything else downstairs. Amber has the room closest to her parents. When they were picking rooms, she thought it was a good idea. Now, Amber can't remember that terrible thought process. The only thing she can think of is that one of the rooms is upstairs, and she hates stairs, and the other is by the garage and laundry. She believes she picked the lesser of the two evils.

Amber dashes down the stairs after her sister agreed to open the presents downstairs. When she reached the bottom, Amber turns on the heat and spins to see her brother had brought the presents and separated them into three piles for each child in the house. The Evergreen parents, Mark and Reene, usually wait until Christmas morning to open presents. They are morning birds while their children are night owls. Reene always asks Amber why they can't open the presents at night. Amber's answer is always the same.

"It's not as fun. Why wait until 9 am when you can experience Christmas right as the day comes?"

Amber sits on the couch and subconsciously counts the presents. Kimberly has the most, which is the first time in years. Usually, Amber gets the most. Amber isn't mad about this fact. She isn't jealous. She is ecstatic! Mostly because half of those presents are from her or had her consulted.
