Hey all, my name's Jamie Harris. I'm 20 years old and I live in Dundee, Scotland. I'm doing an MA in English and Creative Writing. As well as really enjoying writing myself, I have a lot of fun editing and critiquing and trying to help others make their work as good as possible. To that end I've also just started a Proof Reading and Editorial Skills correspondence course.

A discussion of some common issues in Wattpad writing: http://www.wattpad.com/forums/discussion/530823/Common+Writing+Glitches+Pt.1

When I'm choosing stuff to critique myself I tend to stick to Sci-Fi and Fantasy as those are the genres I enjoy and feel I have a good handle on. That being said, I take requests so if you want a dedicated read of your story I'll be happy to help, regardless of genre (excluding any of those stupid 1 Direction fan-fic things, and similar work).

I have two projects active right now. If you like science fiction, read "The Planet That Space Forgot" and if you like fantasy, "Whispered in the Dead of Night." CHEERS!

As well as writing/editing, Uni and work, I play a lot of music. I'm not too picky about the genre (provided its not rap or dance, most of the dross you hear on the radio). I play guitar, bass and keyboard, depending on which band...I play in 4 :P from an acoustic project with my friend to a melodic hardcore band.

The 2 reading lists I have are basically 2 categories. "Working" is the pieces I'm working on now and attempting to give regular feedback on. "To-Do Bucket" means the story caught my eye and my interest, but I don't know when/if I'll be able to leave proper feedback. :P

"There's thousands like me, living low as society says,
but we're high in a different world, one where they say one day,
a better world where we still have hope and faith.
and when we look up to the sky in those seconds before the end
we'll know that we did all that we could."
- Our Final Hour: Autumn Breeze.

Keep smiling!

Jamie.

Hi you offer criticism?
I have only one story. And I want someone to read all of it and give advice. Sorry for spamming like this.
If anyone's interested I recently put together a short list of some of the common things I find when I'm critiquing stories on Wattpad:

@AerithSage Haha, don't worry, all my comments end up that way :P No worries, love the ideas and mythology you've created, I'm always on the hunt for fun things to read. :)

Haha, well it's only 5pm here so I'll be up and working for a while yet.

Catcha later!

Hi! Saw your comments on my story, For Eternity.

Daaaamn, it's really long! Haha. Thanks for taking the time to read my work and with the tips. It all sounds great and I always welcome the chance to improve my work.

Again, thank you so much. I will work on those things you corrected tomorrow since it's already 11:49 pm here.

Sooo...

Goodnight for now! And again, thanks. :)

@words_are_weapons

Haha. That's the same as me. I've only finished the two Star books in my whole writing experience. Granted, I haven't been writing for that long. But still. XD

And, Woo! Re-writes are awesome-sauce!
@xxmajaine Hah, well I'm always interested when I spot fully completed projects. It is a tough hurdle to get over and probably my own biggest issue.

My plots always wind up going snooker loopy by the end (a side effect of not planning enough!). I've finished 2 full length things over the whole time I've been writing, but they're not up here right now. REDRAFTS! :D

@words_are_weapons

I saw that you added them, and I was really honored. :) No worries on the time though. They're both completed and will probably stay there for a loooong time. lol.

They're my babies xD <3
@xxmajaine

:) Well I had a gander at some of your work, the two Shattered Star books look like good reads. They're in my To-Do Bucket...not 100% sure when I'll get around to reading them, but they're in there haha.

@words_are_weapons

I know that feeling xD I do the same.
@xxmajaine Hmm, don't remember commenting on anything like that though I think there's one in my reading list. I tend to just write as best I can and see what blows back really. :) I'm pretty easygoing. :P
