That question surprised me. I hadn't even considered it possibly being anyone else. It had to have been her, right?

Black, I think with a smirk as my eyes land on an outfit. We always wear black.
@PunkRockBlueJay nothing you said to me was offensive :)
@theninjaerin you're totally right about wording it differently. And @PunkRockBlueJay I have. Not saying it's right or anything, but the problem I have is that a lot of nonblack people (especially teens) tend to attempt to speak AAVE in attempt to be funny and be cool and different for a few seconds, but then when black people who actually speak like that at home and around friends do it, it's so often seen as "improper English" or "broken English" when it's really a part of our history and just another way of speaking. it's looked down upon so much and called "ghetto", which is also irritating because people automatically associate the word "ghetto" with "bad" and black people, too. When white people speak AAVE, most people take it as a joke. "they're just messing around/being silly with their friends." when black people speak the language they were raised around?it's too often looked down upon and a lot of us get shamed and shame ourselves if we speak it. Can you understand where I'm coming from at least a little now?
What the hell does ‘heat’ mean?
