Hello! I'm Emily, a 16 year old from Iowa. I'm a junior this year! I'm on the varsity swim team and varsity show choir, and I love them both! I love my friends, family, and dog. In my free time, I eat and sleep and be lazy. I'm awful at decision making and I'm not very pretty, but I believe in the fact that I truly am a good person with good intentions. I can't tell a lie to save my life, and I have awkward double jointed elbows. But one of my greatest passions is singing- I love the feeling of filling up a room with the your sound- spinning, building, projecting it- and I love having the ability to be able to so easily put all my emotions into singing. Above all, I love Jesus Christ.

Phew. Now I've got all those typical introductory statements out of the way- my likes, dislikes, interests- I realize, when you break it all down, I'm pretty average.

Writing, on the other hand, isn't average. I love writing. I love the feeling of putting just the right words together into a story that others can read and appreciate and experience and actually learn from. I love being able to share my experiences and viewpoints through a character and how they become not my experiences and viewpoint anymore, but the character's. Writing is empowerment. :D

I'm not sure what I'd like to do with my life when I'm out of high school and then college, but I'd love to have writing be a part of it. I don't know that I'll necessarily be a writer because I have other interests I'd like to pursue as well. That's why I created this account, so that I could explore the world of writing and see what it would be like the write a book and receive feedback on it. Maybe I'll become a writer someday, or maybe not, but I guess we'll just see how it goes. ;)
