THE ICE HOTEL fantasy YA novel is the most important project of my life so far. It is currently being adapted to screen by 2011 Oscar nominees for Best Original Screenplay: Paul Tamasy & Eric Johnson of THE FIGHTER. I've been writing all my life, even traveled the world performing my writing - so this current experience is extremely exciting!
MC Foley was born in Cebu, Philippines, raised in Virginia and resides in West Hollywood, CA. Foley then worked with SF-based literary arts organization, Youth Speaks to host and produce poetry/performance festivals and events throughout the US. Simultaneously, Foley wrote/acted lead in "The Coconut Masquerade," a play written entirely in verse and produced by Bindlestiff Studio in San Francisco's SOMA district. Segments of "Coconut," were featured in theaters around the country including the national Hip Hop Theater Festival and LA's Greenway Court Theater.
Now in LA, MC Foley is an active novelist, screenwriter and weekly e-columnist on The Business of Show Institute's e-newsletter, which reaches 40,000+ global subscribers - www.thebusinessofshowinstitute.com. THE ICE HOTEL arose from one awful Saturday in November ~ when a phone call reminded Foley just how fleeting our time is on this earth. After that day, the voices of Rossa, Izzie and Poe, as well as the multitude of stories that weave into the novel, grew swiftly. Until they were too loud to be ignored.
