Stephen Hamlin

I'm 27 years old from Strongsville, Ohio and I went to school at both Bowling Green State University and Bellevue University for majors in Spanish and Supply Chain Management.  

Some of my interests includes film, music, writing songs, watching basketball, playing soccer, hiking, running, reading and writing. In college I received the opportunity to study abroad in Spain for eight months.  I travelled to Barcelona, Asturias (the Ireland of Spain), Granada, and Cadiz and I enjoyed plenty of paella.  I love to write fiction but many times my writing turns to satire.  In high school I was obsessed with SNL and wrote skits and character sketches. 

 I recently wrote and self published a book called The Apocamish, which is a satire musical novel about Amish Zombies.  Included in this tale are numerous satire moments and 27 songs!  Along with my story, I included the sheet music for the vocal parts.  

In my book, I'm hoping to accomplish three things.  My First two goals are to entertain and enlighten people.  With my writing, I put in as much laughs as possible by turning suspenseful situations into comedic outcomes. I also wanted to share some of my views that I believe people don't get to hear.  My last goal was to show that although this book is an apocalyptical tale, things aren't always doom and gloom .  Many stories and movies of today show the world in peril and there isn't much hope.  One of the ways I reverse that, is show how the characters in my story actually love zombie killing.  While fighting off monstrous hordes, the characters strike up a new song and dance  while they kill zombies.  Even with danger engrossing them at every corner, they pick themselves up, keep fighting and keep singing.
