The Writer's Terrasse

F.T. Colette is a story teller, or rather a story writer. She much prefers the keyboard to addressing a crowd. She lives in Europe with two cats, a dog, fish, and her son.

Colette writes about life as she sees it everyday. Her stories, just like all stories, will give you a chance to travel your "old brain" route: through emotions. Forget the technology that makes it possible for her ebooks to reach you in seconds, forget your umbrella on the chair or material issues for a while, get emotional!

What is the source of her inspiration? As a child, on Saturday morning, she read the obituaries in the local paper. She read a name, relatives' names, dates of birth and death, short messages (maybe the ancestor of Twitter!) and stories formed in her mind.

She looked at the way people behaved at the train station while she was waiting for her Mum to pick her up every Friday evening. The way people greeted each other, or the way they didn't and what one could interpret of a family's close ties within these few snapshots on other people's emotions.

This is why Colette's stories are anchored in our daily life, whether she's writing about the present, the past or the future, the characters and their circumstances are definitely something we can relate to.
