When I was about six, I defaced my copy of Stuart Little. I didn't like the ending, so I rewrote it, right there in pen on the last page. I've been a writer ever since--and I still have that copy of Stuart Little. I've worked as a septic system tester, a lifeguard, a school uniform salesman, an editor, a freelance writer, and currently I'm a Professor of Creative Writing and English, and every one of those jobs taught me a lot about writing. I love to write and talk about writing. I write young adult novels, a Southern Gothic paranormal series, short stories, and writing guides, and I've had stories published in literary journals like Copper Nickel, The Cream City Review, Eleven Eleven, and The Southeast Review. Besides the things here on Wattpad, I have lots of other books for sale, both as ebooks and paperbacks. You can see them all and read excerpts on my website right at http://www.bakerlawley.com/books And you can get FREE EBOOKS from me, too! @tangylemons Hey, thanks for your note. Yeah, I really debated over changing the title for a long time (I like BOTH titles!) but I think Stealing the Show makes more sense as part of the trilogy; once the second book comes out this summer, maybe the titles will start to work together. I hope so, anyway. Thanks again!
Hi,@bakerlawley. I really enjoy "Stealing the Show," but I liked the title "This is the play" much more.
@Jhibril Thanks for your message--and I promise promise promise I'm working hard on the second book! I think it will be out sometime in April or May, as soon as possible (I'm writing the last five chapters now!). If you want, you can sign up for my email list on my website and I'll send a note when it comes out. It's on my contact page where you sign up--I'd put the link but Wattpad doesn't allow that :( (Oh, and everybody who signs up for the list gets 4 free ebooks, too!) Thanks again--your note is very inspiring for me to get to work on this second book today! --Baker

Thanks for fanning (I know it says following, but that sounds way too awkward to put in a message, so I shall stick to fanning) me! It really means a lot to see a published author taking the time to come look at my work. :)
