Hello all, I'm WelaraJumper! You can call Kelso. :) I've literally been writing since I could hold a pencil and have never stopped. I finished my first full length novel, Chase, almost two years ago. It was a finalist in the 2011 Watty Awards and a quarter finalist in the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award competition (if you don't know what that is, look it up! It's a great opportunity) with a positive Publisher's Weekly review. I'm currently in the process of searching for an agent to get published. As of late I have 1 rejection, which I am actually proud of. C.S. Lewis got over 800 before he got anything published.

I'm a senior in high school this year. Live in a town that has more cows than people and just as much drama as every other everybody-knows-everybody town does. I am terminally stuck in the Midwest, where kids' idea of a fun time is hanging out at Walmart. Yeah, there's not much to do around here. :P When I'm not writing, I show my two Arabian horses in Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure at local, breed, and Class A shows. Love them to death.

I'm a pretty talkative person and I love to make friends, so message me! I don't bite. :) I love constructive criticism, so if you have any comments or suggestions, TELL ME! Just don't be mean for the sake of being mean though, or be mean to one of my friends... then I might bite. Especially if you do so with bad grammar. I have a sharp tongue sometimes and can be argumentative if someone does something that strikes a nerve.

I'm currently working on my second novel (I mean, what will hopefully be my second finished novel). :) It's been titled many different things but I think I've settled on Things We Have Done. Kaser McCarthy, a troubled actor who abandoned his small-town life for Hollywood eight years ago, returns to his hometown and has to see everyone there he hurt - all the ghosts of his past (and a literal ghost, maybe? ;) *hint hint*). Check it out!

@ThomasBerryman@shayay Thank you so much guys!!  They only take 5 of the quarter finalists (out of 100) to be the semi-finalists and I wasn't picked.  I'm happy though with where I made it and my Publisher's Weekly review was pretty positive :) Now in the process of looking for an agent.

HEY EVERYONE - GREAT NEWS!  Just wanted to let you know that Chase has been selected as a QUARTER FINALIST in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest!  It's one of the top 100 YA novels of several thousand, and is in the top 500 out of all 10,000 stories submitted - to my knowledge I am the only teenager left in the competition against tons of adults who have written professionally longer than I've been alive.  I have gotten massively positive reviews thus far and will be receiving a Publishers Weekly review :) I'm absolutely thrilled, and will find out if I'm a semi-finalist on April 16!  Basically, Chase could be a few steps from getting published! EEEE!!!!  And also if any of you really love me, you will go to Amazon(.com) and type in the search box "Kelsey Schnieders" (be sure to spell it right!) or "Chase ABNA 2013" and you can download, for free, the first few chapters of Chase for Kindle/the Kindle app.  The edited first few chapters, I might add.  The much better version. ;D THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT.  I literally could not even dream of being here without all of you.

@pruewatkins I know right!  I think I have the same password for almost everything so I'm kind of scared that a) one day someone will hack every single internet account I have and b) if I do change any of the passwords I'll forget them. aaaaahhh
