Now that I have ventured back into the realm of writing, I am reminded that my true love in this world is words. Big ones, small ones, odd ones, I love them all. But when you string words together to describe a picture in your mind, and travel into different times and worlds, you have a freedom not known to many. You can control your world. Not only that but you can think and do things that would make a "normal" person be called crazy and get away with it. You can invent worlds and make stories go your way and if you want a purple camel you can have one. I am crazy about history, language and archaeology. The older the history the better and the more research available the happier I am. I began reading early and as an avid (or maybe the better word is obsessive) reader, I found myself saying, "Hey, I would do it this way." So, the only way to make the story come out the way I want? Write it myself. I chose Alfred for my first foray into history because his life and time was crucial to the unification of England. The Norse raids were many and fierce but also seasonal for the most part. Alfred the Great brought about many reforms and had quite a long reign for monarchs in that day. Now I am combining my loves into a world of imagination run by dreams and I am thrilled to live in their world. You can find me on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/dawnmarie.stevens.39

Chapter Two - Battle Lines has been posted! Happy Reading!
Chapter Two is almost ready to post. After writing furiously for days, all that is left to do is edit/revise and minor rewrites. Look for it within the next few days!
This is my new facebook page dedicated to all things Aely and Trystyn! :) https://www.facebook.com/dawnmarie.stevens.39?ref=tn_tnmn
@Rosielaurel I am an absolute history buff. I do not have an actual favorite era as I am addicted especially to the royal lines of any country. England, Ireland, and Scotland, however, draw me more than any other. Archaeology is my other fascination. I am combining both in my Aelswyn and the Angels. I wonder how people felt then, what they thought, how they lived, and basing it around actual events, I create my ideas. My dream would be to spend at least a month in the Vatican Archives learning pieces of history not known to the general public.
I love historical fiction too. One of the oldest historical fictions I've read is "Pharaoh" by Jackie French way back in the beginning of Egypt. It features Ur and the ancient land of Punt with female warriors. Absolutely fascinating. What's your favourite era of history?
