I'm a husband and dad, writer and lawyer, farmer and investor, jogger and biker, dirt biker and mountain biker. I earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama in the early 1980s, but I have practiced law for over twenty years. As a litigator, I’ve done everything from capital murder defense to securities class actions. I write the Slate series of hardboiled detective novels, beginning with Cold Winter Rain.
