Holy crap! I finally met someone who has also read GONE and HUNGER and the Immortal Nicholas Flammel Series! And yeah, that series: GONE, is by Michael Grant, and You've read the Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Midnighters, and Narnia! And Greek Mythology!

And some of your imagination is real; there are stars you could touch (brown dwarf stars, they are usually not that hot).
