My career as a writer began in 1998 when my first column was published in a local paper. By day, I was a high school English teacher, but at night and on vacations, I began writing novels. By 2001, I left teaching and began pursuing a full-time gig as a writer. I've been a journalist, editor, and publisher. From 2007-2011, I was a media relations director with Florida's Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

I'm a "storyteller" no matter the genre. I have four published novels and one nonfiction book. Before I changed my name to P.C. Zick in 2010, I wrote under the name of Patricia C. Behnke. I write two blogs at www.pczick.wordpress.com and www.pittsburghwriter.wordpress.com.

My fiction contains the elements most dear to my heart, ranging from love to the environment. I believe in living lightly upon this earth with love, laughter, and passion.

I live in Pennsylvania with my husband Robert who I married in 2010.
