Sometimes I'm here and go on binges of writing, other times I'm on a hiatus that stretches months. I'm sorry if you get caught in the middle. I'll introduce myself here: my pen name is Jay, I live in CA, and I'm in a love-hate relationship with criticism. My reading choices are all over the place, same with my taste in music, and I like to use really big words. I love to meet others, so please don't be afraid to talk to me and strike up a conversation. I tend to start books and get distracted, but chance are that I'm either A) planning for future plots in said book B) starting a NEW book or C) just being lazy as per usual. Hey guys! So if you guys have read the latest installements of A Collection of Mismatched Thoughts, you may have noticed two characters reappearing: Cole and Victoria. They are two of my characters that I use for writing purposes and are going to be main characters of a novel I'm currently having in the works (exciting!) so if you see them in future stories or in the story I will publish soon on here, they are not connected in any way. The short stories they're in are not connected to the story they are officially in. They are just my writing duo.

@shard2323 okay. That actually just got me out of my writing funk. Lol. Thank you for the advice, I should be typing up Chapter two tonight and posting it ((hopefully)) within the next day. I really appreciate your enthusiasm for my story though!

@Paperheartreplica : Ah. Yeah. You're screwed. I'll mop up the brains when your head explodes, but give a ring. *cynical jokes aside* If I may off some advice? :3 Don't worry about foreshadowing too much; if you have to seriously think about it, most times it will appear as if you are wearing it on your sleeve. I find it easiest to introduce new characters quickly--a bit like ripping the band-aid off as to not prolong the suffering. Introduce them with vivid action and condensed description (For instance, "There was a metallic click--a hallow thud--and the door caved in, red hair and talcum skin following after."), give one instance where their personality shines ("He lit the cigarette and took a puff; then he knelt, brought the lit end to the the corpse. With a dull look--like those kids who smash ants in boredom--he sniffed the air and sighed"), and wrap it up by integrating them into the plot (Has knowledge related to the protagonists desires, or what not. This can count as your foreshadowing). For me, those three steps are normally how I go about setting up an essential character: Vivid entrance, set up personality, foreshadow or link with plot. *ends lecture* xD Sorry for the wall'o'text, I just really want the next installment. lol

@shard2323 Mainly just putting it down on my computer. Like... Nothing major in the plot. I have specific events planned out, but this chapter is mainly focused on introducing Tessa's brother, Levi. So it's kind of challenging for me to be able to explain Levi, but not too much so I can foreshadow ahead to later problems.
