I grew up in a small town outside of Toronto and now live in the city with my husband and two small children.  I love to read--that probably goes without saying, doesn't it?--and I also love to write in my trusty notebook, go on long walks and do yoga. In addition to my fiction, I'm a National Magazine Award nominated journalist, and I write Shelf Love, a commercial fiction review column, for the Globe and Mail. I also teach writing workshops and provide author mentoring to a limited number of students each year.
