I'm an inkie at heart, and always will be <3 so if you are too please leave me a message!
I'm a future English PhD, a once-upon-a-time ballerina, and a self-taught pianist.
Literature-wise, I'm a huge Virginia Woolf fan (anyone else? Let's nerd it up, loves), a massive potterhead, and I'm in love with all the poetry. Right now I'm reading T.S Elliot and Mary Oliver. If you've never read The Journey by M.O., I'd strongly recommend it.
Musically, I play piano and a little bit of organ, I'm learning guitar, and I'm a rather versatile vocalist (first soprano, second sop., alto, you name it, I've sung it). My tastes are all over the map-- Joni Mitchell is an amazing lyricist, Indigo Girls are for ALL the harmonies, Depeche Mode has a fantastic beat. I can go Elton John to Katy Perry and everything in between. Also, OKKERVIL RIVER. One of my faves partially because of their lyrics, partially because of their excellent brass/acoustic sound, and partially because virtually no one has ever herd of them.
I write poetry, fanfic (on ff.net I'm Madly A. Hatter, feel free to look me up), sketches (like shorts, except typically with zero content), and I've been working rather extensively on a novel. Once I edit it it'll be up and available for reads.
I'm an editor; a pretty good one. If you want me to look at anything, be it for grammar, plot holes, or just general criticism, drop me a line!
Originally I was an inkie, and at heart I remain one. So, with that in mind:
I pledge to remain a loyal inkpopper despite whatever new writing world I'm plunged in to. I will always seek out my fellow inkies and give them any support I can. I will never forget my inkpopper family. Inkpop will always be my home. Once an inkie, always an inkie.
And with that, I sign off.
Dovetails and dragonclaws,
Mad A. Hatter
