I am a mom to three kids (one of whom directed me to Wattpad and is writing here already), four cats, and one Jack Russell Terrier who thinks she's a cat. I'm married to a great thinker and writer, Scott, who rarely shares his work but will always share his thoughts. I have a BA in Creative Writing so I do love to write (poetry, fiction, blog/articles--depending on what's best for the material) but I also enjoy editing for friends, reading, painting (oil), and singing ( music in general). I published writing in college often and enjoyed sharing work and gaining feedback while on MySpace long ago, but no longer use that forum. Feedback is always welcome! Since four of these already uploaded poems will be submitted as a whole 10 piece work to the 2012 Atty Awards, I may need to remove them soon--- looking into that. But I've labeled them for now so friends can see what I'm submitting. I'm also working on 6 more forms to complete the task. Those won't be uploaded, until they are a whole document with 10 poems total (including the 4 you see here). Stay tuned! Oh! And another version of Caged has been accepted for publication in a book! Look for Uno Kudo, Volume 2: Naked to be out on shelves and virtual shelving mid November 2012! Entered Silence into (the 1st Annual) 2012 Atty Awards in the Enthusiast Category. (Next year--Competitor category--10 poems from 10 separate poetic styles.) Check it out! My 10 (soon to be 11) year old son, Noah, and I are co-authoring the book Different during National Novel Writing Month this November. It is about our journey as a family, but his in particular, as we learned about and decided upon ways to look at Noah's Asperger's Syndrome. We see it as a Superpower, not a disability, and that has made an enormous difference. He owns this.

My poem, a complete and hefty revision of Caged, which first appeared here on WattPad to such great support (and thousands of readers worldwide), was published today in the collaborative book of art, poetry and short fiction, called "Uno Kudo, Volume 2: Naked". It is available for purchase (all proceeds going to PEN International) on Amazon for a discounted price today. It's a lush collection of art, poetry and fiction that will grace any library. Although the theme was naked, few chose to write about actual nudity. Most was about nakedness of the soul or humanity and the artwork expresses each piece tremendously!
Entered the Enthusiast category for the 2012 Atty Awards--- Look for Silence there! Although I wanted to enter the Competitor category, I didn't have time to complete 10 poems (to my standards) from 10 separate poetic forms. Next year! Still, the Atty process has been great, and I'm entered from some spectacular random drawings!
Busily finishing entries for the Atty Awards. Then I'll combine the ones that I marked above (if they make the cut--some will for sure). I'm writing 12, but need 10 poems of different poetic forms. So no new entries on the page for awhile but later a 10 poem set labeled as Atty Awards will be entered. Wheee!!! A poetic decathlon!
http://www.gryphonsmith.com/fileg/verse/Terzanelle.html Curious about the Terzanelle format? I was. It's a great brain game. But have your aspirin handy! The above link was the best that I found to describe and teach it. And, it contains a gorgeous example at the end.
Lisa, I don't know too much about poetry forms. Have to confess my ignorance. Joseph
Thank you, sweetie. That's really kind of you. I think these tests will be showing the doctors how to better take care of my brain, which is GREAT.
I read you statues, I'm praying for you. I hope that you will be okay =]
Ha. Just odd... because it's not even my best work posted on this site. And the subject matter is one that most people avoid heavily and don't want to talk about. Maybe a bunch of seizure prone writers have been reading....... It's my only explanation.
WOW. 1001 reads???????? I feel underaccomplished. GOOD WORK.
