My name is Jonathan Hockey. I studied my degree in Philosophy and Sociology. I enjoy science fiction stories, both reading and writing. In general I like thought-provoking stories. I am currently working on my first novel, including creating the near future world in which it is set. I am exploring technologies such as genetics and communication, and how population and resource pressures will effect society.

Hi, I read that you're an editor in somebody else's thread and I was wondering if you could look over one chapter for me! (Just a one time thing so I can have a strong opening.) Would be more than happy to dedicate!
Hello all, have been away for a while, working on other things. I am now setting up an editing service and maintaining a couple of blogs on word press. Check it out at jonathanhockey.wordpress.com its a good place for promoting your ideas and giving your own thoughts on subjects that interest you, and for submitting short stories :)
I have published my latest chapter of the happiness equation. It tells a bit more of the background of the protestor Mark Brunt. Sorry for the delay in publishing this chapter. A few other commitments had distracted me. I will aim to be submitting weekly once more. Hope you enjoy it. :)
Hi Jonathan, thanks for fanning. I seem to remember talking to you a few times in SF club. Hope all's well with you. Cheers, Gav
@Jilleigh Your welcome, it seems like an interesting story. I look forward to giving it a read :) Thanks also. My story is a work in progress, so any thoughts or feedback when you have a look at it will be appreciated :)
Hey there. Just wanted to say thanks for adding Borrowed to your library! I will check your story out soon as I can. :)
@LetoAtreides Well thank you, i often miss things. And i shall be getting back to doing some more reading once my exams are over this month. All feedback is welcome and i always consider constructive ones =D
@TheRobot Yes I knew, I just forget to do that sometimes. Hope the editing goes well. I may comment on it myself if I see any obvious corrections required whilst reading it ;) It's just a case of finding some time to read it. It is first on my list to read so it should be soon.
@LetoAtreides Thank you =D I hope you enjoy and just be aware that i am still editing the bulk of it =D Protip, hit the reply button at the bottom of comments or type @TheUsernameGoesHere'....Sure you probably know this but just in case =P If you don't i, or anyone else won't be notified of the reply =D
Thanks, yes I am quite new on here, it is good to make some friends :) I like the look of your story terminal velocity, very interesting premise, rebuilding civilisation after a nuclear war, I will definitely get round to reading that soon.
