Good morning/afternoon/evening. Thanks for taking an interest in my work & stopping by. I have two short stories in circulation for publication *fingers crossed*, but I have them posted privately here. If you wish to read them, please PM me or leave a message on my board. I have a strong belief in letting the work speak for itself, & in the case of my wholly original work (I have posted two short stories & some poems here so far) I will let that stand. However, I hate "Mary Sues" as much as the next person, so I feel the need to rationalize my fanfics. I have written a short series of fanfics based on various characters played by the English actor Richard Armitage in response to a writing challenge: "You'll Never Guess Who I Bumped Into The Other Day..." on Richard Armitage board on IMDB where where "...we can imagine what it would be like to bump into one of RA's characters & what occurs.") for which I wrote three stories. Later, I thought I should move the stories to a more permanent archive. These are also posted on fanfiction.net (the John Porter story in a more explicit version, and that has it's own explanation), but someone requested that I move them here for easier reading. Obviously the conceit of a Mary Sue is inherent in the structure of the challenge (& yes, I enjoyed fantasizing, sue me). I apologize & hope you can use my author avatar as a lens through which to view & enjoy the Armitage characters. Please assume each story takes place in it's own universe. Constructive input is welcome and appreciated. Thank you for your time. ~KiplingKat P.S. I am horrendously OCD when it comes to my writing. Even if I hang onto a chapter for a few days, after I put it up I will see a hundred tiny things that demand to be improved. Nothing pertinent, just massaging the words to a more pleasing or character-appropriate flow. So it may take a few days for a story posted to "settle down."

Just found another reason I'm not getting alerts, you'd dropped off my follow list, no idea how that happened, I wonder if anyone else is missing?
..and it would help if i could spell "huzzah" correctly...
Hazzuh, huzzah! I have completed the work for my creative writing class, including doing a drastic edit on my SciFi/Fantasy story "The Precious Moment." If you have the time, please read it over. Feel free to say if it still doesn't work and let me know. Like I have said, this was my first attempt at writing SciFi, so I know it's not as good as others out there.
Need any covers? I'd be happy to make you some or however many you would like.
Hi Folks. I just put up a piece carved from a chapter of the book I am writing about England just after the Conquest of 1066. No smexy I'm afraid, but lots of action. I hope you enjoy it.
When pop culture becomes a pain in the arse: I wrote a story in the Norman Conquest era, which I state is set in East Anglia and talk about troops coming over the Chanel. A couple people reading it though I set it in a George R.R. Martin-esque fantasy world and that when I referred to "wolves" I must be referring to a family and not Canis lupis. *headdesk*
@GiveACatAPen Thanks. :) Technically, Gravity and Evolution are kinda the same: We know it exists, there are just some disputes over some of the fine details of how it exactly works.When people say, "Well, Evolution is just a theory!" It's a theory with a mountain of evidence supporting it's existance. The "theorietical" aspect of it are just some questions of how a couple of the multiple mechanisms involved work. (Yay Anthropology/History major!)
Can I just compliment you on your status? I saw it in my news feed, and I appreciate that this is slightly weird but it made me and my friend laugh :)
@KiplingKat Enjoy the wet feet and cold extremities darling!!!!!
@KiplingKat Like it, nice.
