I've been a writer since my childhood years. I got distracted by life for a while and put my stories up on the shelf. I've picked them up, dusted them off, and I'm ready to share them with the world. I hope to have my first novel, The Foundlings, out during the last quarter of 2012. It's the first volume of a high-fantasy trilogy called the Swords of Xigara. I've also completed a steampunk-ish novel named Rise of the Sun King, and hope to have it out in the next six months or so. My next project will be a Weird West/Steampunk adventure novel set in my hometown of Sweetwater, TX. I love speculative fiction, especially fantasy. My favorite authors include Steven Erikson, J.R.R. Tolkien, Scott Lynch, Patrick Rothfuss, Peter V. Brett, C.S. Lewis, Terry Brooks, Brandon Sanderson, David Eddings and Glen Cook. If I had to choose my favorite between the Lord of the Rings by Tolkien and the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Erikson, I'd have a very hard time committing one way or the other. David Eddings inspired me more than any other author to give writing a try myself. I'm a minister, a musician, a former school teacher, and an amateur chef. I live in North Texas with my wife, three budding authors, and several Apple products. I've visited every state in the US except for Hawaii, but hope to fix that soon with a second honeymoon/20th anniversary trip. If you've got tips for places to see in Hawaii, I'd love to hear them. My wife and I offer ebook cover design services, as well as ebook manuscript conversion services. You're worth it, Jeff. All best.
Hello everyone, I wanted to let you know that all of my fiction will be coming down off of Wattpad very soon because I'll be publishing it exclusively on Amazon. My non-fiction will stay up for the foreseeable future, and any new fiction I write will make its appearance here first (in addition to my blog). Thank you all for the support you've shown me. You encourage me to keep writing every day.
@kelvinjd Thank you for the kind words. It's gratifying to hear when someone likes and appreciates my stories. Good luck with your own, Kelvin.
Good angles of approach and imaginative delivery, a pleasure to read well written works, Jeff.
@hellvis Thank you, I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for commenting.
Hi Jeff, thank you for following. I'm very intrigued by the soliloquies for your works on Wattpad - I'll certainly check them out :)
Check out my stuff please
@JeffMMiller Oh, Alright, it's ok. I'm just glad I could get a respond from you. Thank you c:
@Stormtornado Hi, and thanks for the follow and your comments. I wish you well and encourage you to keep writing. That's the best way to learn, in addition to reading and studying all you can about the craft. I regret to say I won't be able to offer you critiques, I have a limited amount of time for such things, and that part of my life is pretty full helping others already. Good luck with your stories. :)
Mr. Millar, I am amazed with the fact that you have a book or at least some books on Amazon! I mean, it's my dream to become a writer, but honestly, my works need more editing and more creativity. I'd love to publish my own book in the future, but I would rather keep practicing and see how far I could get on Watt-pad. I'll start reading your "From the tip of the pen" advice and I'll soon become as great as you! Also, would you mind checking out my works, I mean criticism would help tremendously, right? -Zero P.S: Fanned~
