Writer's Tips #4: Long Titles are a Huge Nu-uh.

I see it all the time on here. People seem to sum up the entire book in their titles - using 20,000 words. Here are some tips that may help you create a more professional title:

- Make it 5 words or less if you can. It's concise.
- Don't reveal your plotline. Your blurb can be in the description.
- Often, it's better to pick out a predominant theme, place or symbol that is in your book. For example; my book Identity is named that because the company it is centered around is called Identity.
- Conversely, don't make it irrelevant.

It looks classier and more professional if you really think about your title and don't ramble on in it. :)

I am not a native English speaker but I can't understand how people confuse those things... grammar and correct spelling is very important especially since many people in wattpad and from an English speaking country...

@Immlaaarr I don't think many of our Wattpad writers think it's important enough. Many of them haven't learned to separate text-speak from proper spellings/grammar for prose. Worse yet, many of them think it has no effect on the reading experience, and refuse to be convinced otherwise.

Keep up the Writing tips. I hope people actually take your advice.

Writer Tips #3: You're = you are. Your = possessive.

e.g. You're looking mighty fine today. Except your face. Your face looks hideous. (I'm sure you look lovely really).

You want to write? Learn things like that. Otherwise you will never make it. A publisher, agent, or even a reader, will take one look at your grammatical screw-ups and assume you don't care, because you're careless.

@xoshortycakezxo YEEEES! It's a fantastic series! If you're watching the one with Keira Knightley in it, it's really not the best - you are best off investing yourself into the BBC series with Colin Firth! It's much more enjoyable, the Knightley version doesn't really follow the storyline well! x

P.S. I cried when Saskie was so understanding about having two families instead of seeing it as a broken family. She's quite wise for a six-year old. You're such a great author!!! Plus I miss Ross and Jasper, and Oliver and Finn. ^^
