Felicity

I'm a perfectionist. When I write the first few sentences of a story, I think it's okay so far. Later, when I look at it again, I hate it and I hate myself for writing such crap. Others write so natural and so beautiful; I envy them. It's like they were born to write. Maybe they, too, go through a frustrating period of revision, erasing some parts, and adding new ones. However, when I type a story, I edit it again, and again, and again until I feel absolutely exhausted by the end of the day. I know being a writer isn't easy. It messes with your head, leaving you unsatisfied no matter how many people say they really love it. To me, writing close to perfection is my obsession. That's why it takes twice as long for me to finish a story than others. I'm trying to relax, calm down, and remind myself that nothing is perfect. You can re-write your material over and over again, but you're going to have to draw the line. You just have to be confident in yourself that you've done the bestthat you can with your story (which is what I'm working on right now), and hope for the best. 

Writing full-blown stories takes longer for me, but during my planning/re-writing my drafts, I write poetry which is easier, less stressful for me, and more about conveying your emotions through your words as best as possible. I'm also very passionate about music. I used to sing in choirs, but now I'm more focused on my education. I still miss singing, but I do that in my spare time. 

By the way, I'm sorry if the first paragraph scares you. I'm really having trouble writing stories, but I'm trying to go at it day by day
