When darkness grows
And anger shows
It's fearful face to all
When sorrow strikes
And kills the light
Just close your eyes and fall
Into a world of treasured gold
Of stories never told
Of heros bold and cities old
This world is yours to hold
So welcome here
My weary friends
Drink up and breathe and smile
Within Kraid's Eye
You'll find out why
You want to stay a while
Welcome :) Please don't be silent readers! Comment, vote, etc. If you have any constructive criticism, please share it. I'm here to learn and gain experience. I'm a writer: not a poet, not a novelist. I'll write anything, so don't be expecting to always have more of the same. My style varies with my mood. So please, enjoy!
If there's a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it. ~Toni Morrison
Do not put statements in the negative form.
And don't start sentences with a conjunction.
If you reread your work, you will find on rereading that a
great deal of repetition can be avoided by rereading and editing.
Never use a long word when a diminutive one will do.
Unqualified superlatives are the worst of all.
If any word is improper at the end of a sentence, a linking verb is.
Avoid trendy locutions that sound flaky.
Last, but not least, avoid cliches like the plague.
~William Safire, "Great Rules of Writing"
A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the other one. ~Baltasar Gracián
The best time for planning a book is while you're doing the dishes. ~Agatha Christie
I think it's bad to talk about one's present work, for it spoils something at the root of the creative act. It discharges the tension. ~Norman Mailer
You never have to change anything you got up in the middle of the night to write. ~Saul Bellow
