After sixteen years practicing law in California, having started my career as a judicial research attorney, followed by prosecuting criminal cases and later to defense work, to estate planning and probate law, in 2010 my husband and I moved to Florida where I'm enjoying the writing life. Of utmost desire was to write No Kiss Goodbye, the story of an extraordinary journey when I was fourteen years old that taught me to love God with all of my heart, treasure my freedom above everything else, and never look back. Through all life's setbacks, I think of Winston Churchill's words: “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” I'd like to share this quote for life's struggles: "God never gives strength for tomorrow, or for the next hour, but only for the strain of the minute. The temptation is to face difficulties from a commonsense standpoint. The saint is hilarious when he is crushed with difficulties because [victory] is so ludicrously impossible to anyone but God." (Oswald Chambers)
@BrianPlatt Hi Brian, sounds good :))
@RScottVanKirk Hi Scott, so glad to connect here, too! A friend told me about it and your name somehow came up as people I might know. How do they know this stuff? You and two other writers from authonomy. Hmmm. Scary? I've been busy writing that query letter and synopsis and I sent a few out last week, only to receive one rejection. And what's sickening is that it was another standard, form rejection. I hoped the HC review would make a difference. I hate to think that everyone who talked about the HC review being meaningless was right...Well, I'll keep submitting and hopefully I'll get a nibble. One's all I need, a good one :))
I'm exhausted already. In the middle of Henrietta and Ill message you soonest. B x
Hey Donna, I read the editors critique on your book. They really give it some thought which is nice, but I'm curious what you thought about their comments. Have you had any nibbles from agents or publishers?
@BrianPlatt social media is great, isn't it, Brian? I already fanned you :))
Welcome aboard, Donna. Are you stalking me? B
