Hi, I'm Andrea Blythe. I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in Modern Literature, and live in the Bay Area, California, where I write poetry and fiction. My poetry has appeared in several publications, including Chiaroscuro (ChiZine), Strange Horizons, Perigee, Z-composition, Bear Creek Haiku, and Chinquapin. In 2010, my poem “India” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

In general I gravitate toward writing fantasy and science fiction, and I love reworking folklore and fairytales. The world is full of beautiful things unacknowledged and possibilities ignored. I would like to believe in ghosts, vampires, fairies, fortune tellers, witches, magic makers, hidden realms, and so much more, but at heart I'm more of a skeptic than I pretend to be. Much of this is reflected in my writing.
