Andy Lex Bain is a 30 year old writer who resides in Tasmania. He enjoys writing, reading, writing video game reviews, gaming, writing fiendish campaigns for his roleplaying club "The Blades of Valour", cosplaying, bushwalking and watching movies, DVDs and anime. He aspires to be a full-time published author and basically spends his days slaving away at his computer ShadowLord.

His writing career began basically whilst watching classic fantasy movies such as The Never Ending Story and Labyrinth, and playing old roleplaying games like HeroQuest. He was then inspired to create his own fictional world and write stories to take place within it.

His favourite genres to read are : Heroic Fantasy and High Fantasy.

His favourite books include: The Broken Sword by Poul Anderson, Perdido Street Station by China Mieville, Elric of Melnibone by Michael Moorcock, Darker Than You Think by Jack Williamson, Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, anything by C.L. Werner and many others.

Current writing project:

I am currently submitting my novel manuscript, called Starshard: The Seventh Gate, to agents. I am also submitting short stories to magazines for publication.
