Sacred Names

A simple name can impact one's life in ways they could never imagine. The church in Calanthe searches in secret for children with names resembling the one in an ancient prophecy and takes them in at the age of fourteen for “hero training.” Lyric is one of the Prophecy children they were eager to take in, for his name was an exact match. Less than happy about the church's intervention, he turns their expectations upside down, earning himself the nickname “Demon of the Church” by the time he is eighteen. When a new Prophecy child named Kaleo arrives, mysteries arise about Kaleo and his distant homeland. Everything is suddenly set in motion. Forced to leave the city, Lyric journeys with Kaleo into the vast lands of Serberos and struggles with his identity. The truths of the outside world hold things Lyric had never believed to exist.
