Majestic Shadows: Before the Sky Fell

Whik's world is falling apart - literally. He has created a parallel universe, and the black split in the sky grows wider. ------- When Whik Winfield activates an ancient artifact in his town, he unknowingly creates a parallel reality. The ground shakes, the sky splits apart, and the black void creeping across the sky grows wider. Whik is plagued with dark visions of the future and an imaginary friend that looks oddly just like him. Follow Whik on two intertwining story lines, as a child and as an adult, as he realizes his visions are glimpses into his other path. Both realities are splitting at the seams and beginning to blur together. With help from his fellow survivors - Charlotte, the childless widow, Frankford, the passionate scientist, and Geoffrey Marg, the fearless sea captian - Whik must seal the rift and stop the destruction of both worlds. But there's a slight problem. Malachi, an exiled murderer, is also looking for the device - only he has the armies of the north to aid him, and he's about to invade Whik's island.

This is a REALLY short part, so I'm just not going to count it as the five parts to comment on, yh :D BUT I like the quote, its completely true!
Hiya, this was a interesting quote a way to pull in the readers.. but besides I can't say I like the story yet until I read on so here goes nothing.. :)
nice quote, though I can't say I agree, but this quote does have a dark undertone that you might want to consider because it might scare a few readers off,
I like it as it is a form of truth. Human kind is an evil race and on the top of the food chain which make us a dangerous race.
I love how you began the story with a quote. To me, it made it have a sort of mysterious edge
a very powerful start to what i bet will be a great story :) voted :) moving on to next chapter :)
