Alex Fitzgerald is just herself. No one cares about her. If anyone speaks to her, it's to hurt her.
Nate Turner is the guy that everyone wants. Girls scream for him, boys envy him, and the school worships him. But he doesn't want any of it. He tries to keep away from everyone. He tries to be alone. But he just can't get a break.
Naturally, Alex has a huge, embarrassing crush on Nate. And Nate has a huge, embarrassing crush on Alex. Neither will say anything.
One day, in a state of boredom, Nate writes a message on a sticky note, and presses it under his chair during his biology class. Alex finds it during her study hall in that same room. She writes back. For the whole school year, Nate and Alex share a stream of yellow and purple sticky notes, writing to each other. Alex is happy that she has a friend. Nate is happy that someone is talking to him that DOESN'T know who he is.
There's only one problem.
Neither of them know who they're writing to.

I like the parallelism of this first part regarding the two main characters. Oh, and "Justin Beaver" HA!!!!!! LUV IT!!!!
I liked this beginning...they're both thinking the same thing the first line tho... perhaps you meant "Calm down, Alex" ?
