Being me, it's like living in a shadow. I don't have a choice about what I want to be, I have to be it, that's just how it goes. I just have to listen and nod my head, even when I want to cry out and say I disagree. But I can't. At fifteen, Cara leads a seemingly normal life, but she might as well not exist. She's been mute since birth, and she doesn't think it will ever change. She never gets to voice her opinions, and therefore is made fun of constantly. There's one thing in her life that keeps her going, the class clown, Jaay, who owns the hearts of many girls in Cara's school. He's currently going out with the cheer leading captain, Martha, so Clara can't in any way try to communicate to him, as she feels Martha would beat her up. Jaay has no idea who Cara is, but maybe some miracle will turn his opinion round?
