Hallie Mae Liddell has struggled with self respect for as long as she could remember. She’s inflicted pain on herself and has done things she regrets and seeks to get help at a rehabilitation center in California. 2,175 miles away from her home she seeks help. There, she gets help through the program getting off of drugs and starting over. Her program has a help program giving her a pen pal to give her support. Unbeknownst to Hallie, her pen pal is none other than Zayn Malik of One Direction. Through him, she tells him her deepest of secrets and he tells her his. Zayn Malik just wanted a friend outside of One Direction to talk to. He wanted to know if someone would listen to his words and he finds Hallie. He discovers that life really is a rollercoaster and that he is better off than others. He learns that she needs him more than he needs her.
