In this dystopian fantasy, Gracie Lancaster leaves her beloved Sector Three, exchanging it for a life of freedom in a remote mansion surrounded by the wilderness. The building is a miracle in itself, located somewhere in what was once America and still surviving even after two centuries without maintenance. Over time, she discovers others like her, wanderers searching for a life without worrying about the troubles of their past. In the mansion, the group become allies, enemies, and even sparks of romance flare from time to time. Soon, they learn to live with each other, sometimes fighting, other times comforting each other. Gathering her courage, Gracie decides to put a stop to the injustice of the Sectors that were once their homes. But is it better to do what is right and risk everything she fought for? Or should she forget the outside world and live in the sanctuary her friends helped her create?
