The Investigator's Apprentice
Sequel to 'The Explorer's Apprentice.'
Ten years after Marley's incredible journey, P.J. Faulkner begins one of her own. Back in Miami once again for the holidays, the 15-year-old girl feels anything but thankful. Her mother is halfway across the globe, her older sister is entirely oblivious, and no one ever listens to her. No one understands her. Her life is spiraling out of her control, and she is helpless to stop it. Her only comfort is her music, but soon even that isn't enough. It isn't long before she crosses paths once again with the mysterious time-traveling locket.
P.J. and her friends are thrown centuries into the past, forced to carry out lives that are not their own. P.J. must conquer her fears and her family in order to save herself, and she discovers along the way that she isn't so alone as she thought. But P.J. has questions, whose answers may just prove to be deadly.
Why has the locket reappeared? What does it have to do with the murder of Elizabeth Lovett, back in the twentieth century? With a war blooming on the horizon and memories quickly fading, can P.J. pull herself together long enough to save them all?
