The new year begins with a interesting visit from two of the Black sisters, Bellatrix and Narcissa. This results in a few questions about just who Diana is and why she is with Severus. Bellatrix informs Voldemort of Diana, and he finds this news very interesting. But currently, The Dark Lord has more important matters at hand, like the fact that young Draco Malfoy has become a Death Eater and has been given a very important mission: kill Dumbledore. Diana is not aware of this mission, or that Severus is actually going to kill Dumbledore when Draco fails. This secret is eating Severus away and he is not able to tell Diana, even when he is in desperate need of her comfort. Severus soon discovers a dead potions recipe that hasn't been used in about a century, and this potion might help Diana get her sight back, and allow her to see her love with her own eyes, and not just by visualization. When Severus finds, alters, and makes this potion, Diana is finally able to see the world after eleven years of eternal darkness. And then, Severus, using the advantage of Diana having her sight back, gives her a very special gift. Diana thinks everything is perfect. She is happy, has her sight back, and is enjoying her life immensely. But then, tragedy strikes and Severus does something Diana never thought he would do. He kills Dumbledore. And Diana sees it with her own eyes and is mortified. But Diana trusts and loves Severus, and escapes from the school with him. Severus is quick to explain everything that he has had to do and everything he still has ahead of him. Diana believes him and they try to work through the rise and fall that has passed and the one they still have to face... together.
